We had a great experience at El Pimenton!
Things kicked off with two types of bread (the cornbread was amazing) and three flavored butters—red pepper, garlic aioli, and Portuguese chorizo. The red pepper butter was the standout; the others were just okay.
We went tapa-style with Iberico ham croquettes, shrimp, chorizo tortilla, and a mixed charcuterie/cheese board. The croquettes were warm and tasty, and the shrimp had just the right amount of spice. The rest was decent, though the board didn’t quite match the quality of the other dishes.
We shared a red fruit sparkling sangria—honestly one of the best I’ve had in Portugal or the UK. Just don’t drive after!
Dessert was a crème Catalan with pineapple, which was underwhelming—texture was off and didn’t match the rest of the meal.
The atmosphere was warm and the staff were attentive without being overbearing. We were even treated to a tasting of coffee, cream, or anise liqueurs at the end—a great touch.

For example, the Caesar salad for 15 euros consists of lettuce leaves (a mix from the nearest supermarket), chicken, croutons, and mayonnaise. We were served a large amount of rotten leaves! Come on, guys, can't you buy fresh lettuce for 15 euros? Instead of Caesar dressing, it was just regular mayonnaise, very unappetizing.
The tortilla at 5 euros a slice is simply a supermarket pie that was reheated in the oven. The octopus appetizer wasn't bad, but the waiters forgot about it and us, it sat on the counter for too long and cooled down. As a result, we got cold pieces for 25 euros. In total, 65 euros for appetizers alone, without...
Read moreThe Food isn't bad but it is a bit pricey. Edit to reply to comment : the rating is based on comparison with the competition available in Seixal region, the service seemed unorganized and started to get slow when more customers came in and in my opinion prices are high for what we get. Besides these negative points the food and drinks were good and the restaurant has a...
