Gare Paradela — Restaurant in Sever do Vouga

We loved this cafe so much we came back to it multiple times. For coffee and homemade cake and blueberry lemonade, to rent bicycles (it's an easy and beautiful ride north to Baloiço do Vouga and back along the EcoPista - definitely recommended), to grab a snack in the afternoon and also in the early evening for cocktails and local craft beers. The food and drinks were very reasonable. The history of the station is interesting and they had a local art exhibition on when we were there - it feels like a community space as well as a spot for tourists. Sensationally situated in the stunning valleys of Aveiro, this hidden charm boasts deliciously hand crafted sweet and savoury delights. My wife and I simply adored everything about Gare Paradela, from historic nostalgia that resonates throughout the converted station house, to the spellbinding views, to the offering of bicycle rentals at an affordable rate. Lastly, and by no means least, we can't speak highly enough of Luis, who was charming, knowledgeable and made us feel utterly at home.
