A wonderful little family run place in a stunning part of Portugal. 30 minute bus journey from Sintra town towards the coast. Room is clean, comfortable and has all necessary amenities, all for an affordable cost. Below rooms is the restaurant which has served me one of the best and most memorable meals in Portugal yet. Absolutely delicious, nothing too fancy but flavourings were spot on. My main - a shrimp curry with homemade apple chutney on the side - had a slight Portuguese twist with port wine added. It was well balanced and reminded me a lot of a favourite curry my mother used to make when I was a kid. Local craft beer and wine were excellent choices too. Really nice atmosphere inside, very homely. Very good value and I came out feeling full...

Simply incredible. As Starters we had the Octopus and Ceviche. Both were exquisitely prepared and balanced in regards of sweetness, bitterness and sourness. As mainplate we had the tuna steak with egg and veggies instead of fries and the duck, also with veggies. The tuna impressed with a strong taste of sea and was very juicy. The duck was extremely soft (slow cooked) and tasty! The veggies were perfectly timed and still crisp. The melting chocolate cake with the tastiest vanilla ice cream I ever had won us over dessert-wise.

You should absolutely eat here, the chef is probably some kind of perfectionist who loves to present you something he is proud of. The food here should be celebrated by the consumer as such creation by a...

Pensão Sisudo is a really nice budget friendly guesthouse. The rooms are small but cozy and comfortable. Breakfast is really nice, breakfast is left in boxes in the kitchen, it includes a loaf of bread, chorizo, ham, cheese and butter. Also there are always great fruits, yogurts and coffee available. It is worth mentioning that the entrance to the guesthouse is very narrow and the stairs are really steep, so its not suitable for people with disabilities. The best part is the restaurant downstairs—it’s absolutely fantastic. Everything isl delicious, especially the octopus! Highly recommend visiting it. This review is for the restaurant. Driving there and parking is not easy. The room was filled with tour guides. Seems like a pit stop for that type of thing. Makes it transactional, lacking soul. The space was a dark room with barely any windows. Sad, since the day was beautiful outside. Service was rough. Not a lot of care. Smiles starting mostly from me. More importantly, it was painfully slow. 15 minutes waiting to order, then 50 waiting for the food. If it was predicted, they could have told me when I called to book, instead of when I sat to order. I just wanted to get to the beach. The food was decent. Soft octopus. Run of the mill meat. The fish lacked flavor. I am never coming back.

We came to this restaurant as part of a tour to Sintra and loved if. It felt really authentic and the price of the deal really added to it. We paid 10 euros for a full meal (bread, butter and olives. A soup, main and a dessert plus a drink) which was delicious and really filling. The soup was an authentic Portuguese potato soup, the fried fish was great but the star of the show had to be the dessert which are all homemade. The lemon “mousse” was to die for! The waitress was also really nice!
