We had a nice Algarve restaurant experience. The menu was written on the black board, a nice selection of meats and fish for amicable prices. They had a good white house wine and the atmosphere was friendly. Was a bit hesitant about the negative reviews about the staff. I have nothing bad to say, there maybe not as open as in other places but overall friendly and polite. They even did their best to speak English to me as a foreigner. Pros/cons: Pro's: - generous portions - good flavours - typical Portugese menu - food was served relatively quick - reasonable priced Cons: - staff could be a bit more enthusiastic - a lot of guest where smoking in the outside dining area while sitting at a table inside -

We are a family from South Korea and stopped by Luis do Prego for lunch on our way to Lagos. We were truly impressed by the delicious food, friendly staff, and authentic local atmosphere. This is a fantastic Portuguese restaurant, offering beautifully cooked seafood and meats. Highly recommended to anyone visiting the area.

Nice place pleasant staff and lovely enjoyable food and drink at very reasonable prices. Just returned this year whilst on our winter getaway, very warm welcome from the staff and the service and food is still very good with prices that seem unchanged from previous visits. Highly recommended.

Last evening we celebrated a special milestone Birthday for 15 friends at this amazing restaurant. Togetherwith the management we did some early planning of menu items wine etc. The food we chose was traditional Portuguese and my how they impressed. Absolutely stunning, served timely and hot and delicious. The staff were attentive and kind. Everything went like clockwork. All of our guests were full of praise and comments bubbled over at what a good time they had? We can thoroughly reccommend the garlic prawns and Portuguese Sausage and Fish cakes (pataciscas) for starters, followed by sumptious dishes of Bacalau a bras, (traditional codfish and rice), costeletas do borreigo (lamb chops) and roast loin of pork in delicious gravy all accompanied by stunning Alentejo wines, and a Birthday toast with a very acceptable Alentejo bubbly (Herdade do Lisboa) too...

All in all an incredibly memorable Birthday party. Many, many thanks to all at...

Most unhappy with this unexpected experience ..

I didn't even step onto the premises and we were already ushered out .. my mom wasn't even out of the car !!

A very rude waiter who saw me arriving with my chihuahua and rushed over wagging his finger and stood in front of the back entrance, to deny me entry to the outside area of the restaurant (terrace) .. huge and empty..

The strange thing is that when I made the reservation I asked for an outside table as we were going with two small dogs and the speaker was quite nice

It's been closed because of all this situation and now with hardly any customers I find this ridiculous. Probably the poor owner doesn't even know how his customers are treated.

When I mentioned this to a recurring customer, he wasn't surprised and told me this man was always unpleasant. The rest of the staff I must say were good professionals last time we were...

We had never been there before and man (owner) came and said What do you want to drink? When asked what they had, he said everything. I asked for Pina colada - we don't have that! Then he said What do you want to eat? We said could we have a menu? He just pointed to the black board and walked off. We were inside coz we figured there would be air conditioning, there was an air con unit with fins open but no cold air coming out. It was as hot inside as out. The food was cooked well but simple food - mine - roast chicken, potatoes and rice - no veg. My husband - steak, chips and rice - no veg. Roadside cafe food. Not much choice - looks like a lot on board but half of it was unavailable! Signorita with limited English was very polite and made an effort to communicate. If you're staying at Casa Branca - it's worth it - but not worth a trip...
