Café Central de Chão das Maias — Restaurant in Tomar

We were traveling through and stopped in for lunch. It was quite busy (12:30) on Friday so we had to wait a bit. A very Portuguese experience for sure. All locals. I got the plate of the day which was Cod with potatoes. It was a huge serving. It was good but much too salty for me. It came with wine, dessert, coffee and aguardente that was being passed around from table to table. My husband ordered a steak that was humongous and thick. It was surprisingly good!
