A hidden place far from the center of the city, well worth the travel. A cozy rustic restaurant but with a somewhat fancy atmosphere, the service was pleasantly well done and the food was great! I had the couvert (amazing bread and cornbread!). For appetizers I had Pica na Língua, which was the most tender beef (cow's tongue) with mustard and pickles sauce, it was delicious, as well as Enchidos no Forno de Lenha although I wished there was more chorizo since I'm not a huge fan of Padron peppers. For main I shared a tasty Posta de Alcatra (medium) with Batatas a murro e Migas, traditional portuguese side dishes. For desert I tried Pudim de Gemas (Yolks Pudding), accompanied with lemon ice cream, and Leite Creme Queimado (Crème Brulée). I enjoyed the first one the most, for the flavour and consistent texture. Read moreA true hidden gem in the middle of nowhere! The food here is absolutely amazing, generous portions, full of flavour, and beautifully authentic. What makes the experience even better is the staff: they are warm, attentive, and genuinely care about their guests. Even though there wasn’t an English menu, they went out of their way to send a waitress who patiently explained every dish so we could make the right choice. The local wine was delicious and paired perfectly with the meal. If I had to mention one small downside, it would be the flies that appeared towards the end of our lunch, but luckily only after we’d finished eating, a minor detail compared to such a wonderful experience. Highly recommend if you want authentic food, heartfelt service, and a memorable meal off the...
Read moreOutdoor space for lunch was filled with bugs! They need fans or bug traps to keep the space comfortable. Otherwise I would say not really usable space for lunch.
Bit of hype around this place. Food was ok but not spectacular for the prices. Didn’t appreciate being charged 2 euros for paper containers to take the leftovers and 1euro for a paper bag without first being told there would be a separate charge for those items. I’ve been to many places here in Portugal and very rarely do you see a restaurant charge for Togo containers. That’s usually baked into the cost...
