This was the first stop on my holiday and I'm glad it was. I loved the room, the hotel, and the staff. Everyone I met at the hotel was friendly and helpful. I don't speak Portuguese, and some of the staff either had no English or were shy, but they always found someone who could speak English. They helped me find a taxi driver who spoke English and was willing to do a drop off and pick up at the various hikes around the island.||The hikes are incredible, so is the peace and quiet. I'm not sure how all the islands are in comparison, but this one was very quiet and peaceful. ||The breakfast was great -- yes same food everyday, but lots of it and many choices. I had enough for my breakfast to not need lunch -- even hiking 5-6 hours. The coffee was wonderful and they always offered an espresso after the meal. Take it. It's lovely ||The dinners I had there were the best I've ever had -- either the hikes could be to blame for this, or just plain great meals. I had the pasta and shrimp in a cream sauce one night and it was more than I could possibly eat.||I also ordered the garlic toast -- so good, but again, an amazing amount! lol Another night I had a steak. It was GREAT!! I'm American, I was raised on a ranch -- this was the best steak I've ever had. They cooked it perfectly with something new for me -- an egg and ham on it, and under that garlic and onions. Try it all. You won't regret it. ||The bed was comfortable, the pillows were soft and plenty of them. I couldn't hear any of my neighbors and the street, while right outside (along with the airport) didn't bother me sound wise. The Wifi was excellent. All in all, I loved my stay. By the way, my flight was cancelled leaving and the airlines put me up at a hotel in town, and it wasn't nearly as nice! Oh, yes, this is far from stores, and town, but again, a taxi can be arranged and it's...

All in all it was a bad experience. We went there advised by a taxi driver and because the place is right across the airport. The menu looks interesting, but they were missing half of it and the available choices were not that good. When the food arrived, the fish was dry and the meat was too greasy full of fat. Flavour wise, not really interesting. Comparing to all other places in the island, this was the worst. And the service was simply nonexistent. We had to wait for ages to get help from the waitress. Many times we had to go look for her in order to get the drinks, the bread, etc. She would never come to our table checking on us. As an example, we ate our meal and had some desserts and our plates and dishes stood there all the time, holding food remains (and curious flies) until we left. Maybe it's all there still... And the waitress dress code was something of very bad taste, definitely not acceptable for a restaurant. I would not...

The café didn't have any salads available, although there were three on the menu. The reason for this was not due to the restaurant's actions - the late morning flight from the airport was cancelled for the third day in a row, and everyone was given lunch vouchers for a list of restaurants that included this one. It's a 4-minute walk from the airport, so most stranded passengers went there for lunch. We were in the tail end of that rush, and the salads were depleted by the time we ordered. We tried the Spaghetti Alfredo with Shrimp, and it was excellent. They had ice cold Sagres on tap, which went well with the food and helped numb our souls to the past three straight days of cancelled outbound flights.

Fiasco.

This place leans more towards a café than a restaurant. It’s a straightforward establishment, nothing extraordinary. We stopped by for lunch and found a concentrated menu consisting of meat, fish, and soup - all of which were quite pleasing. However, there were a few aspects that could be enhanced. Upon entry, the scent was a tad unwelcoming, and the restrooms could particularly benefit from more upkeep and a regular restocking of essentials like toilet paper. While I wouldn’t dissuade a visit, there could be other places providing a more comprehensive experience.
