Magma Caffé — Restaurant in Viana do Castelo

I knew this place since it opened business, and I'm sorry to come back only to see it degrading. I understand being busy with high season and everything, but nothing justifies the experiences that I had in the last couple times I went there. Damn it, I even gave it another try, but no, I won't come back. When employees don't deny and even confirm that something is wrong, and shrink their neck into their shoulders as the only answer they can give to a client's complain, something is definitely wrong. And what is wrong here is whatever can go wrong due to mismanagement by people who only care about counting the cash at the end of the day. Unfortunately for customers, this is a busy area in the summer and there's no serious competition in town, so this restaurant can still go lower a few steps and the boss won't notice in the money counting. I could give at least 3 starts for some the food, but when a Chef plays a client stupid by greasing raw salmon to make it pass as smoked salmon... what? Ok, for the local folk when not in the mood to cook. But I would never recommend this place to any tourist that wants to take home the taste...

If I could give this place more stars I would. I was in Portugal for a month and was at this place everyday. The atmosphere is amazing and all of the people working. There are great and super nice. The food was always good at always came out super fast. The staff was very helpful when deciding what to buy. And they have a great huge outdoor patio, which is great for late night drinks with family...

Autant le serveur était très aimable, autant le service est clairement à revoir. L’attente pour les plats était déjà incroyable… au point que je pensais que le croque-monsieur serait au moins bien chaud. Résultat : il est arrivé froid, à peine cuit, ressemblant plus à un jambon-beurre de boulangerie qu’à un vrai croque-monsieur.

Après le repas, 30 minutes d’attente pour obtenir la carte des desserts… que nous n’avons finalement jamais vue. Au moment de payer, la caissière nous a réprimandés en demandant le numéro de table, alors qu’il n’était même pas indiqué, puis a refusé de me donner le ticket de caisse pour vérifier.

Bref, un véritable attrape-touristes, alors que ce n’était pas du tout le cas auparavant. Très décevant, nous n’y retournerons pas.

Apesar do empregado ser muito simpático, o serviço deixou muito a desejar. Espera interminável para pratos que chegaram frios — parecia que tinham ido matar o porco para fazer o presunto!
