Restaurante “O Ilhéu” — Restaurant in Vila do Porto

Beyond rude even though we came with our kids and we’re obviously very polite and asked if they could accommodate us. We were told not inside but outside so we only ask another patron if we could share the shaded table as the other umbrella was broken/ an older man came out yelling at us and stomped the chair aggressively making a tense and terrible experience for our kids. He signalled if we wanted shade we could have sat inside when we were told no previously. I understand there are times now but we were not aware of this prior and realized we came at 230 and they close service at 3. Awful experience with an incredibly rude and unwelcoming owner. We sat at one of the tables that the wife of the owner told us to sit at with small children with us. This man comes out irate that we sat under the shade in 30 degree heat.

Will not be recommending anyone to waste their time or money to sit here when...

Food was nice, price was affordable, fish was fresh. Don't come in on a rush or with high-end expectations, otherwise you will be disappointed. It is a nice restaurant for customers who are not demanding. Loved the view and the ambiance. Opening hours 10AM to 10 PM, June to September. October to May it is closed...
