Bar Praia de Água d'Alto — Restaurant in Vila Franca do Campo

This bar is really good, it has good food and drinks, you can communicate very well with the people working there. They're always happy to help you. I recommend having a table on the terrace close to the sea. We normally don't order appetizers, but there we do. They have crispy chicken, which I think is better than the KFC or the garlic bread, which is also well made. The burgers and the steaks are both very well. You can ask how you want it cooked and they do it very well. The "House burger" and a "Sirloin Steak" are very good. For desserts, the homemade brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice is always worth trying. I recommend ordering a glass milk with it, too. Edit: I wouldn't recommend coming here late. Many people are here, and it would take a long time to find a table. If you have a table, maybe don't order fish since it slows your order down a lot....

When I comment the food with 4 stars, it was based on my previous experiences with them over the last years, when their lapas tasted amazing. After the food arrived this year however, I felt ashamed to have brought my friends there saying it was one of the best food in the Island. Not sure if the management changed or anything else happened, but what used to be a great place to it is now unfortunately a tourist trap. Also when we asked to open the sun covers, we were just told they couldn't without justifying, even after asking twice. We were on vacation and this was a wonderful place near where we stayed. Staff was very accommodating and the menu was broad. The food was delicious, we ended up going twice while on our trip. Would recommend the crunchies app., everything was inexpensive. The mousse was very good, as was all the food. Outside has a wonderful view of the beach, and you can sit inside if you're short on time. They do have menus in English if you are from out-of-country, and the staff do speak English.
