Francesinhas forno a lenha — Restaurant in Vila Nova de Gaia

In all honesty, i had good hopes for this restaurant as it was for a special occasion. The service was good, the staff is nice and helpful, in a sense of typical Portuguese hospitality Nonetheless, what was more unexpected about the experience was the food. We were waiting for a typical francesinha with the great sauce and deli, but were faced with a weirdly season meal. Compared with other francesinhas, these ones did not have the right flavor, it was like they added extra spices but it just made it all bland and purely distinguishable by the reasonable spiciness. We found that this unusual flavor was from the sauce and the seasoning of the beef. Further, the francesinha did not contain the usual deli you would expect and the beef was too thick . Foi uma visita a esta casa para experimentar a francesinha cozinhada em forno a lenha. Logo á entrada deu para ver que estávamos num espaço com uma decoração simples mas muito agradável e recebidos com a simpatia de uma das funcionárias da casa. De salientar que todo o pessoal está com um avental com o nome da casa, o que transmite um certo cuidado com a apresentação perante os clientes. Fizemos então o nosso pedido da francesinha em forno de lenha com a antevisão de alguma demora devida ao facto de ter de ir cozer no forno. Uns 20 minutos depois vieram então as nossas francesinhas e chegou o momento de as provar. Há que dizer que não são tão picantes como é habitual. Um molho suave com um leve toque picante... Apresentação muito agradável em prato de barro. Um pão tipo saloio a substituir o típico pão de forma. Uma posta de vitela muito boa e muito tenra apesar da sua espessura. Queijo, e salpicão de boa qualidade. Enfim, uma francesinha diferente mas muito boa. De recomendar e para repetir numa próxima...
