what a disappointment. nice place, busy on a Tuesday lunchtime even in these 'Covid' times... but we were not otherwise impressed. everything is charged by the item/portion size here, which we knew from other restaurants in this chain. we didn't want the bread/ olives etc. so sent them back. we were advised to order 1 1/2 chickens (for 2) as they were 'on the small side'. we waited an hour for our food to be served. the chickens were minute!. we counted thr wings and legs to see if it was just one chicken and another might be coming. no. we were still hungry. more bone than meat and im not kidding! we were originally going to have dessert and coffee here too but decided to move on for this. they tried to charge for the bread and olives and did indeed charge for 1.5 chickens!! it was a smaller portion than a single chicken everywhere else we've been. not impressed at all. it's a shame for them, we would have spent more had the service been more efficient and the chicken a fair portion. we certainly won't...

I visited regularly as I stayed in the area for a while. I never used to order soup before a meal but the veg soup is fantastic and now I always have the small serving. The bread rolls ( no one mentions this I see ) are also primo. Should add though coming from the UK It’s always strange that many places here charge a little something for a roll and the butter too, and a small bowl of olives. I usually have the whole chicken for eu 9.50 ( it’s small but sometimes I’ll have half, eu 4.50) . It’s the best I’ve tasted on a consistent basis in Portugal so far, maybe a couple of places in Porto are also on the same level. I have the salad and fries, and together this makes a perfect and inexpensive complete meal. Add a fabulous dessert for 4 eu and a glass of wine and the total comes to...

This restaurant is amazing to eat chicken.

You can eat one of the best chicken soups ever. The spicy roasted chicken is also amazing.

Apart from that you also have all the Coimbra regional traditional foods like “Arroz de Bucho” or “Chanfana” and they are also amazing.

The Prices are average for a normal Portuguese restaurant.

Taking into consideration the food quality/quantity, taste and price this is a awesome experience that really worth to try.

*lacks vegetarian meals. They have some but they aren’t that many...

We ate in this restaurant thrice. Chanfana, and the veal steak on a hot stone are good and worth the price. I think the chicken might be flavoured with some spices that may cause allergic reaction - I had a strong water retention and headache on the next day. They have nice simple salads, though. Good portions, appropriate prices, and excellent service. One gentleman who was our waiter all the three times is very nice, professional and speaks really good English. If you feel like a dessert, the cookie cake was quite nice.

High level food and service. When I say the Frango is possibly the best I have personally tried in ALL OF PORTUGAL, I am not joking. I am now a regular. The consistency and quality are top level. The soups are heavenly, and meat quality is the best!.. I tried the Chanfana last week, and it was Amazing, but it was my first Chanfana, so I don't have a reference to judge it by. All in all, a new favourite restaurant. You will probably see me there for Lunch. 😂
