Restaurante O Cenáculo Do Leitão — Restaurant in Vila Real

We had lunch here after visiting Bisalhães for the black ceramics, it’s a great restaurant with a very authentic feel, full of locals enjoying lunch. Husband had the local speciality Leitão, roast piglet with cracklings and home made crisps, I had the day special oven roast red fish with potatoes. All came with a big bowl of rice and the most tasty salad. Generous portions, we couldn’t finish it all. Friendly staff as well, we called it the best meal we had in a week of visiting Northern Portugal, probably because it was not targeted to tourists but to locals. We went on visiting a nearby tower and then a waterfall with beautiful views, easy to find on GoogleMaps....

Undoubtedly the place to go if you're looking for roasted piglet in Vila Real. Great value for your money. Haven't tried nothing other than the house's speciality, but I'd say it's a safe bet if you're interested in meat overall. Really modern and functional space. il faut à tout prix éviter ce restaurant... je vous explique pourquoi : nous sommes arrivés à midi, nous avions réservé pour 7 personnes. Le restaurant est spécialisé dans le cochon de lait. ok à attendu 35 mm avant que le serveur veulent bien se donner la peine de venir nous voir pour savoir ce que nous voulions manger... nous voulions tous du cochon de lait sauf une personne qui voulait un steak de bœuf. il nous l'a déconseillé car il faudrait 40 pour être servi pour ce plat. on a demandé une assiette de saucisson et une bouteille de vin. 20 mm pour que ça vienne sur la table. au bout de 40 mm supplémentaires toujours pas de plats que nous avons commandé. on appelle le serveur pour avoir une explication mais ça réponse est que ça arrive. au même moment 4 personnes rentre dans le restaurant et s'installe à la table a côté. un autre serveur les prend en charge pratiquement tous de suite. et leurs commandes arrivent 20 mm après. et nous toujours rien... et en plus les plat qu'il on commandé était celui qui soi-disant prenait 40 mm. du coup on cest levé on a payé les boissons et on est parti.. ils on essaye de nous retenir, mais on est parti quand même.. à fuir a tout prix il prennent les étrangers...
