Rotana Restaurant- Barwa Village — Restaurant in Al Wakrah

I wanted to share an experience that happened at Rotana Restaurant, Barwa village. I was thinking "Should I write about this or not". One and a half months later I decided I must write this because it's related to the food that we eat. During June 2025, I visited this restaurant with my family. It was around 9 pm at night. We ordered Chicken Manthi and some other dishes. We were served food around 20 minutes later. Unlike normal Manthi rice, it was a bit different. When I took some rice and smelled it, I felt a kind of foul smell. My family already started eating the rice and they also felt something different. When I took more rice in my hands, I realised the rice was sticky and Stinky as well. Some kind of gum-like elements stuck on my fingers. When I checked thoroughly, I understood it was not good and old food. I stopped my family eating the rice and called the waiter and showed the food was not good. Without even apologising, the waiter said the manthi isn't fresh it is prepared at noon time. That's why it is like that. He asked what item you are ordering instead of that. I told him to take the rotten Manthi rice and show the cook or the staff who served that the food is stinky and old. He took the food and vanished We didn't see him again until we left the restaurant. Another staff member gave us the bill. They didn't charge for the Manthi (of course they aren't supposed to). Later in the bill counter two men were there talking over telephone / mobile. I was waiting for them to finish their conversation and complain about serving rotten food. But the guys continued talking over the phone. I waited a few more minutes and asked then I wanted to see the food and beverage manager or supervisor. Then they said what happened? You can tell here. I told them they served bad Stinky Manthi. To my surprise, the answer was 'haven't our waiter told you that the Manthi was prepared at noon???' I really got angry. I said no. So if it is prepared by noon, they still serve stinky food to people? How can they do that? Later they were murmuring each other and finally one of them said sorry. And his sorry sounded like ( it's not our mistake, if you want your eat else you shut up and go) . This is one of the worst customer services I have ever experienced in my life. Somehow I wanted to leave the restaurant and I don't even want to spend a moment in that restaurant with this type of worst customer service. I will never visit this...

This restaurant location is in barwa village where you can easily park your car. Restaurant is big with huge area dedicated to families. They also arrange parties in this branch. Have lot of dishes in there Menu. For me , There BBQ chicken is the main attraction of all. Spicy , Fresh & very delicious compared to any other indian restaurants around.
