Restaurant Edessa — Restaurant in Bucharest

Not what it used to be! I have been going to Edessa Colentina since they were just a small one room restaurant that had no tables. Back then the food was amazing. After 2021 something has changed, the food is not the same the service it's terrible. Gave them many chances, thinking i had bad luck...but nothing changed. Most recent example: today I bought from them Mixt Grill abd Iskender kebab. Mixt grill had missing items(no hot pepper, bulgur was a left over from someone else as it had stains from another food). Iskender kebab was in fact something else ( lacked yoghurt, cucumber, sliced grilled meat. Instead of Iskender i think it was some sort of stew with dipped in pita in it, and chopped meat, not grilled). Unfortunately i will not eat here again. Such a shame they changed so bad after...

Fac aceasta recenzie in urma a 3 vizite la restaurantul Edessa din sos. Colentina. Primele doua vizite au fost la finalul anului trecut (noiembrie-decembrie 2023). Toata experienta de atunci foarte reusita, de la ospatar (acelasi de fiecare data), la mancarea gustoasa si portiile mai mari ca suficiente pentru un om normal. Timpul de servire extraordinar de rapid, gustarile de inceput foarte gustoase cu lipia specifica (lavaș) fierbinte. Aseara, 02.03.2024, am vizitat din nou restaurantul pentru a savura gusturile orientale ale felurilor de mancare specifice. In cursul zilei, pe la orele pranzului, am sunat pentru a face o rezervare telefonica. Domnul care mi-a raspuns mi-a solicitat sa-i transmit datele printr-un mesaj pe whats app, urmand a primi o confirmare a rezervarii. Confirmarea nu am mai primit-o. Increzator ca voi gasi o masa libera, am fost cu familia la restaurant. Primul gust amar pe care mi l-a lasat a fost faptul ca am vazut in bucatarie si ospatari de alte nationalitati, altele decat turceasca si romana (cum erau in trecut). A venit momentul in care ne-au fost aduse meniurile. Meniurile din 5, 4 erau incomplete (lipseau pagini). Trecand peste acest aspect, am dorit sa comandam feluri ce contineau carne de vita sau oaie. Nu s-a putut deoarece nu aveau. Din tot meniul puteai comanda doar carne de pui. Trecem si peste acest aspect si comandam frigarui de pui si kebap de pui. Comanda facuta in jurul orelor 18.00. Am primit mancarea la masa in jurul orelor 19.30, dupa 1h 30min de asteptare. Platourile nu erau nici pe departe ce au fost in trecut. Portia arata execrabil. Putina varza aruncata in farfurie, niste ceapa cu putin praf de boia aruncat peste, orez si kuskus cantitate foarte mica si rece, 3 felii de cartofi reci aruncati peste. Singurul lucru cald a fost carnea. Antreurile de inceput au fost la fel ca in trecut, in schimb lavașul adus a fost rece si deja intarit. Intrebati fiind despre durata de asteptare pentru a primi mancarea, au ezitat sa raspunda, vorbind ceva (neinteles) despre gratar. Per total, o experienta dezamagitoare din toate punctele de vedere. Super fast service, very nice customer service and really good food. I am Indian and I am particular about the use of species and I was there with an Iranian friend as well. So there are two gumbo up for this place right here. A really big menu filled with purely vegetarian, chicken and other meat dishes. The sweets are perfectly sweet and not too heavy as well. The hummus, babaganhoush, the lavash, etc. Everything was great. We had starters, some bread, main course, dessert and some mint tea at the end. Even the mint tea was good.
