Rero — Restaurant in округ Аптекарский остров

We were here as a family for my father's birthday celebration. And it was the most amazing and cheerful experience for a very long time. But let me start this review from some necessary formal details about the venue.

The location is very good overall. It is in the center of the Petrogradskiy island, short walk distance from major metro stations (10 minutes top from Chkalovskaya and about that from Petrogradskaya) easy access with public transportation (bus stop in 50 meters, tram in 250 meters). Historical building all around. Very nice and safe area, not too crowded and not directly on any tourist route.

The space is very nice. It is well maintained, appropriately decorated for a Georgian cuisine family restaurant. Decor and in particular a use of gold and other metallic colors are excessive for my taste, buy I'm a boring northern guy enjoying endless snow fields and a clean almost sterile design most of all, so a lot of decoration are excessive for my taste. Generally I don't like to see a palace themed decor when I'm not in a palace. It was quite appropriate for a celebration thought.

The food. It was very good. I had a salmon cooked on a vapour with some kinza, which was light and flavourful in the same time. Grilled vegetable salad was also just ad I like it: a little spicy, smokey, with each and every component preserving it's own distinctive taste and aroma. Others at my table had Hachapouri, Khinkali, Chacha, Home Georgian red vine, Freshwater salmon stake, homemade desert and fresh vegetable salad. They were all expressing a cheer and a satisfaction with they food.

The atmosphere. Here I have to say, that it is likely, that my experience won't be representative to everyone. And that is why: there simultaneously 3 birthdays in the same time on a Tuesday evening in this relatively small (less then 50 sqm, I would say) room. And all the people was very nice and friendly, and no one got too drunk. Everyone were making this evening fun and pleasant for each other. The huge role was played by the hosts, they were over the top nice, friendly and heart warming in their approach to every guest. A little and necessary grain of salt was delivered with a perfectly appropriate sense of humor on the intersection of Caucasus and Saint-Petersburg traditions. The hosts and the other singer were playing and singing Georgian songs, Russian songs, Italian and Greek songs and even gone that far, that pleased an Armenian guest with national Armenian song and lezginka. It was a pure atmosphere of friendliness and joy that evening, and I can't imagine it would be...

Вчера провели в Рэро свадебный банкет,всё прекрасно прошло было 23 человека,Давид- распорядитель с товарищем старался как мог,то есть с душой,единственное,что не хватало шустрых внимательных-как соколы официантов-сложно вдвоём обслужить и объять вниманием столько людей,кухня интересная и подойдёт большинству,всё красиво сервировано и вкусно,что немаловажно,интерьер спокойный,домашний,стильный без переребора,в общем комфортно и ничего лишнего,хорошее грузинское вино в кувшинах,алкоголь и соки торт на ваш выбор,привози,что душе угодно о бо всём можно договориться, всё зависит от вашей фантазии,с музыкой так же всё придумано - достаточно мобильного телефона и ведущего(аппаратура имеется),Давиду с товарищем (в суматохе не узнал как его завут- мой пробел)отдельное спасибо за искреннее душевное старание и выдумку(они ещё и официантами были!!!)поварам низкий поклон,хозяйке-спасибо за атмосферу и стиль,тем у кого банкет на тридцать человек советую туда -поймёте разницу с "мёртвыми" кафешками и казаками,это точно место не для жлобских гулянок.Всем...

Радушная и внимательная к гостям хозяйка - легко и непринужденно я испытала на себе легендарное грузинское гостеприимство, не покидая района.

Еда на высоте - я была тут на дегустации вин и закуски уже были подобраны, поэтому сама ничего не выбирала и не пожалела - попробоывали ароматные хинкали, традиционную курицу в петрушечно-чесночном соусе (не запомнила название), говядину в какой-то сногсшибательной подливе, что-то вроде вареника с сулугуни (чуть язык не проглотила), хачапури по имеретински и по ...(тоже не помню), закуски из трав и овощей, в финале комплимент гостям - гранатовое вино из Кахетии (это бомба, я уже во всех своих соцсетях разрекламировала. Просто пробуйте, столько интенсивных вкусов одном бокале не было никогда). В уборной индивидуальные полотенца для рук и крем. Вечером хозяйка поет и танцует для дорогих гостей. Приятный теплый свет.
