It was a charming experience to eat at Travelling Roots restaurant in Musanze. The warm atmosphere that greeted us as soon as we entered set the tone for a remarkable evening. The location is appropriate for any gathering, including a laid-back dinner with friends or a passionate date. Each item we sampled was expertly prepared and filled with flavour. With its melt-in-your-mouth softness and expertly balanced spice, the smoked pork ribs were exceptional. The pizza was outstanding, espousing the chef's talent. The pizza served is arguably the greatest in Musanze, if not the whole of Rwanda. You should not miss their desserts. They really were the icing on the cake of a delicious dinner. The personnel were helpful and kind. Our waitress made wonderful suggestions that suited our tastes and this indicated how well-informed they are about the menu. The prices are really fair considering the quality of the food, service and atmosphere. It's obvious that every customer is satisfied when they leave the restaurant. Travelling Roots has become my go-to spot for both lunch breaks and cozy dinners. Nestled in beautiful gardens with soft, soothing music and a charming atmosphere, this place truly feels like a retreat. The service is impeccable – fast, friendly, and always professional. The staff, especially the attentive waitresses, make every visit feel special.

What truly sets Travelling Roots apart is the food – absolutely unmatched! Every meal has been a delight, but one of my most memorable moments was their pizza night. I enjoyed a variety of unique, delicious pizzas I had never tried before, all while listening to perfect background music. Huge thanks to Jenna for making that night unforgettable.

Delicious food in a nice garden atmosphere With a lovely young Dutch owner

We enjoyed the crunchy chicken burger crusted with winaz potato chips (crisps to you brits) on a delicious homemade brioche roll obviously made in house and with butter!

The owner hopes to sell house baked bread on Fridays in the future which would be a welcome and exciting addition to musanzes lackluster bread options.

We also had a typical Dutch snack a crispy ball coated with brioche crumbs with a nice saucy center bitten...something. they are working on improving the timing which is something that many places in. Rwanda need to address but all in all an enjoyable and delicious experience especially in musanze where choices are limited and menus often similar.
