Cafe en Ville — Restaurant in Saint Lucia

Took my wife and dad to this restaurant for Sunday lunch. Lovely place, lovely staff but the food was a horrible shock! Wife chose a shrimp salad that she said was fine. Dad and I ordered a fish meal. Our plates looked great - 5 stars for presentation, but when we both tried to bite into the fish, it was not edible. Without exaggeration the fish was pure rubber. We both spit out the first bite and left the rest of the fish on the plate. My wife tried to bite and same result. Something was clearly wrong with the fish.. or the chef. I told the waitress that the fish was impossible to eat and her only response was 'Sorry for that, its Marlin and very chewy....'. I paid the $200+ and left. A very pricey portion of plantain and rice is all I and dad had as what was supposed to be the best part was the worse. Ive been a hotel CFO in the Caribbean and definitely would be having the chef fired and put in place customer service policies to fix dissatisfaction. We got there at 12:50 pm and was served at 2:45 pm

I wanted to like this place as it was our first time but it disappointed so badly.

The clear galvanize is not the best for this sunny island. We sat in the sun for 2-3 hours. I recommend the green transparent galvanize.

We had to ask for water to be served to our table.

Most tables were occupied so I’m uncertain if this contributed to the terrible service

Nonetheless our order was taken at 1:00 pm We received cold food at 2:30 pm. Literally everyone received their food 2 hours after they arrived.

I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich it was not spicy and it was cold.

We order 2 burgers with no toothpicks so the burgers were falling all over which made it difficult it enjoy. There was no flavor and very dry.

The lambi was not crunchy.

The cashier did not know how to use the PoS to check out both cash and card...

One of our favorite meals of the trip, favorite dessert for sure and favorite drinks! Really beautiful view of the Pitons with some great “lush” jungle in the forefront.

We called to make a reservation the day of. We were seated right away and had great attentive service. I had the catch of the day (mahi-mahi) and my boyfriend had bbq pork. Both came with two sides. HIGHLY recommend the Passionfruit daiquiri!!

Also highly recommend the mango cheesecake for dessert. We also ordered a passionfruit cake but it was not nearly as good as the cheesecake.
