HORN SMOKEHOUSE — Restaurant in Al Ahsa Governorate

Very nice place, fairly new, so all the decor looks really good. The shop front is very inviting with seating outside for cooler days and ample parking on the main rd. All COVID19 precautionary measures are in place as you enter. We went around lunchtime, it was quiet and we were seated immediately. The waiters were very helpful and we were attended to quickly. The menu is very small, approx 15 food items, mainly starters and drinks. This is not a negative as I assume they are aiming to specialise as a smokehouse, which is fair enough. They had no Mojitos even though it was on the menu. We all ordered the steak and one starter as there was no options for sides. I believe they could have sides which complement the meat such as mash potatoe or vegetables and stick with the smokehouse theme. The food was served fairly promptly with all starters and drinks. The Steaks were served on grease paper which was on a metal trays (see pic), looked great but a mission to eat as the paper got soggy and tore, so you had to be careful you didn't eat the paper. The steaks came with an option of Mushroom, BBQ or Peppercorn sauce. The steaks were cooked beautifully and were complemented nicely with the sauces, I had the peppercorn. There was a little more fat then I expected but I dont mind fat. We all enjoyed the food including the sweet potato fries I ordered. The ambience was great and the waiters intentive. There was a manager on the floor but spent most of the time on the computer. This could have been a good opportunity to meet and greet customers which gives it a personal touch but dont think he was interested, particularly as it was quiet and easier to do at this time. Washing facilities are available and clean. The bill was very reasonable. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone and I will be returning to try a few other things on the menu. I have given four stars but with more items on the menu including more sides for steaks and removing the paper from the food, easily be a five star rating from me. Will update after my next visit. everything was wrong from the beginning. I went to the restaurant to have an order to go. the casher took the order and told me to set on the tables on the right to wait for the order.

After a few minutes, there was a family who did not want to sit in the family section up stares. the casher went to me and lied to my face and told me that this section it reserved for family only while he was the one who requested me to sit there.

I left my seat and I told him I would wait in my car. the food was late there, for I went to check on the food, and he would get it for me. After several minutes, he gave me my order. I checked with him if everything was there, and he covered that.

After I went home, I opened the bag to find that half my order was missing. I called the restaurant to deliver the missing items. However, I was told that he could not deliver the items, and I needed to get it from the store. I drove there and got the missing items.

The food quality was decreasing in comparison to the time the restaurant opened. it was a bad experience, and I do not...

I really wanted to like it but I sadly was disappointed. The things I heard about the restaurant gave me high expectations.

I'll try to sum things up.

Pros: Food came hot Good portions mostly. The fried shrimp was pretty good but could use a better sauce. The fries are pretty good.

Cons: Almost everything we ordered lacked flavor in general but also didn't taste smoky either. The fried chicken sandwich had a thin chicken cutlet that wasn't really that much flavorful, and it was barely spicy despite adding the spicy sauce.

The monster sandwich was the biggest disappointment. It's like 5 inches of bread to 1inch filling. The bread especially needs much more seasoning.

Pretty much everything comes with a side of fries. Don't get me wrong I love fries. But, would've loved any variety like mashed potatoes or any other side really because it gets overwhelming.

I really wanted to love it but I think these issues should be addressed. And also please do work on...
