Toshi توشي — Restaurant in Makkah Al Mukarramah

It’s quite rare to find a restaurant in Makkah that offers authentic Filipino cuisine, especially for someone like me who misses the familiar taste of home. Most Asian restaurants here typically serve Chinese, Indonesian, or Malaysian dishes, so I was genuinely happy to discover TOSHI – a gem that brings Filipino flavors to the heart of the city.

I highly recommend their seafood soup and pinakbet – both dishes were flavorful, well-prepared, and brought a comforting sense of home-cooked meals. The vegetables in the pinakbet were fresh, and the broth in the seafood soup was rich and satisfying.

The atmosphere was also warm and inviting, with a clean and cozy interior that makes dining feel relaxed and enjoyable. The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the overall positive experience.

I do hope they expand their menu to include more Filipino Muslim specialties like Tyula Itum (a Tausug black soup dish) and Manok Pyaparan (chicken in coconut milk with turmeric), as well as Filipino favorites like boneless daing na bangus. It would be wonderful to see even more regional dishes represented.

We had the most unforgettable dining experience at Toshi Chinese Restaurant! Every dish we ordered felt like a burst of flavor and comfort straight from the heart of the kitchen. The Chicken Spicy and Beef in Chili Sauce were absolute standouts—perfectly balanced between heat and taste, tender and cooked to perfection. The Garlic Rice was fragrant and paired beautifully with the mains, while the Meaty Spaghetti brought a rich, soulful touch to the table.

Our fresh orange juices and iced teas were refreshing and just what we needed to complement the savory dishes. And the desserts—what a finale! The Banana Split Ice Cream was pure joy in every spoonful, and the Filipino Halo-Halo was a delightful medley of textures and flavors that brought back memories of home and summer.

We just had lunch at toshi. My first experience dining and tasting their foods and honestly it did not meet my expectation. Ive heard about this resto from family and friends since toshi caters asian cuisine. We ordered big boodle fight and it was dry without special sauce. The fish and beef was chewy hard and dry, tasted so overcooked. The lomi soup was too sweet for me. The halo-halo desert was almost plain- filled with gelatin and ice only. I didn't appreciate any of their meals yet.
