I had one of the worst dining experiences ever at Hakan Restaurant, and I feel the need to share this so others can avoid the same disappointment. To begin with, the restaurant changed its name from one of Obhur's oldest restaurants, which makes the google reviews mixed and confusing.
First, the reservation process was a disaster. It took a 9 hours to confirm a table, and even then, there was no professionalism in the communication from the staff. Once we arrived at the restaurant, things only got worse. The reception staff were rude, unprofessional, and seemed to have no interest in making us feel welcome. It felt like we were eating there for free.
While the location has beautiful views, the evening was ruined by the lack of attention and care from the staff.
Their focus seemed entirely on the party, dancing, music, and entertainment, with no consideration for the dining experience. The staff completely ignored us, walking by without acknowledging us, which is absolutely unacceptable.
Additionally, there was a minimum charge to sit on the rooftop outdoors, which wouldn’t have been an issue if the service matched the price. Unfortunately, the service was nowhere near worth the extra cost.
As for the food, it was a mixed:
Mixed BBQ: 8/10, decent but nothing special.
Shish Tawooq: 7/10, good but again, not great.
Fattoush: 9/10, the only dish worth mentioning.
Kunafa: 0/10, hands down the worst kunafa I’ve ever had. It was inedible.
Given the high prices, I expected much better quality, quantity, and service. Unfortunately, this place does not live up to its reputation, and it’s definitely not worth returning to.
In short, don’t waste your time...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting Mr. Hakan’s lounge in Obhur, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that made me feel right at home.
A special shoutout to Mr.Nawaf and Mr.Doğus, whose exceptional service truly made my experience unforgettable. They were not only gentle and attentive but went above and beyond to ensure that every detail was perfect. Their friendly demeanor and willingness to help added a personal touch that is hard to find in today’s fast-paced world.
While I was there, I witnessed a birthday celebration at the next table, and I was genuinely impressed with how beautifully the staff handled it. The decorations were vibrant, and the team made sure to create a joyful and festive atmosphere. It was heartwarming to see the smiles on the birthday celebrant's face. It was clear that the staff takes pride in making special moments even more memorable for their guests.
The lounge itself is beautifully designed, offering a perfect blend of comfort and elegance. The menu features a fantastic selection of delicious dishes and refreshing drinks, all expertly prepared. I highly recommend trying their Turkish coffee – you won’t be disappointed!
Overall, my visit to Mr. Hakan’s Obhur branch was nothing short of amazing. I can’t wait to return and enjoy another wonderful experience. Thank you, Mr.Nawaf and Mr.Doğus, for your outstanding service! If you’re in the area, don’t miss out...
Read moreLast time, my order was not served. This time, came late. The problem with their kitchen is the bad coordination. Starters should be served first and when finished the main course can be followed. But they put everything on your table. It is ok if the table is large, but their tables are hardly enough. They started dealing with indians to serve bring the food or clear the table, They smell bad, I wish they let them use deodorant and change their clothes. The other thing was the music when some one has an occasion like a birthday, it's so annoyingly loud. They also put the music so loud when the ladies came with the bakhoor, why? Can any one enjoy setting and talking to friends? Am I interested to see those ladies who were wearing strange with cheap bakhoor? Do I really care of cheap quality acts? The food: meat Kabab was dry, shish tawook was great, chicken kabab was dry too. Tajin was great kebbah was sooo[ oily and I have no idea why they cut it halves. The turkish bread and homous was nice too. The seat was not comfi if you set more than an hour. Finally, I lived Hakan's before, and found it enjoyable especially with that lady who baked the bread and came moving when drums starts. Now-a-days, it starts to become like others, the restaurant needs to maintain the same level when started, using the same members or similar not looking for a cheaper alternatives. Cheaper ingredients means cheaper quality and services. Go back to the...
