I had one of the worst dining experiences ever at Hakan Restaurant, and I feel the need to share this so others can avoid the same disappointment. To begin with, the restaurant changed its name from one of Obhur's oldest restaurants, which makes the google reviews mixed and confusing.

First, the reservation process was a disaster. It took a 9 hours to confirm a table, and even then, there was no professionalism in the communication from the staff. Once we arrived at the restaurant, things only got worse. The reception staff were rude, unprofessional, and seemed to have no interest in making us feel welcome. It felt like we were eating there for free.

While the location has beautiful views, the evening was ruined by the lack of attention and care from the staff.

Their focus seemed entirely on the party, dancing, music, and entertainment, with no consideration for the dining experience. The staff completely ignored us, walking by without acknowledging us, which is absolutely unacceptable.

Additionally, there was a minimum charge to sit on the rooftop outdoors, which wouldn’t have been an issue if the service matched the price. Unfortunately, the service was nowhere near worth the extra cost.

As for the food, it was a mixed:

Mixed BBQ: 8/10, decent but nothing special.

Shish Tawooq: 7/10, good but again, not great.

Fattoush: 9/10, the only dish worth mentioning.

Kunafa: 0/10, hands down the worst kunafa I’ve ever had. It was inedible.

Given the high prices, I expected much better quality, quantity, and service. Unfortunately, this place does not live up to its reputation, and it’s definitely not worth returning to.

In short, don’t waste your time...

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Mr. Hakan’s lounge in Obhur, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that made me feel right at home.

A special shoutout to Mr.Nawaf and Mr.Doğus, whose exceptional service truly made my experience unforgettable. They were not only gentle and attentive but went above and beyond to ensure that every detail was perfect. Their friendly demeanor and willingness to help added a personal touch that is hard to find in today’s fast-paced world.

While I was there, I witnessed a birthday celebration at the next table, and I was genuinely impressed with how beautifully the staff handled it. The decorations were vibrant, and the team made sure to create a joyful and festive atmosphere. It was heartwarming to see the smiles on the birthday celebrant's face. It was clear that the staff takes pride in making special moments even more memorable for their guests.

The lounge itself is beautifully designed, offering a perfect blend of comfort and elegance. The menu features a fantastic selection of delicious dishes and refreshing drinks, all expertly prepared. I highly recommend trying their Turkish coffee – you won’t be disappointed!

Overall, my visit to Mr. Hakan’s Obhur branch was nothing short of amazing. I can’t wait to return and enjoy another wonderful experience. Thank you, Mr.Nawaf and Mr.Doğus, for your outstanding service! If you’re in the area, don’t miss out...

Last time, my order was not served. This time, came late. The problem with their kitchen is the bad coordination. Starters should be served first and when finished the main course can be followed. But they put everything on your table. It is ok if the table is large, but their tables are hardly enough. They started dealing with indians to serve bring the food or clear the table, They smell bad, I wish they let them use deodorant and change their clothes. The other thing was the music when some one has an occasion like a birthday, it's so annoyingly loud. They also put the music so loud when the ladies came with the bakhoor, why? Can any one enjoy setting and talking to friends? Am I interested to see those ladies who were wearing strange with cheap bakhoor? Do I really care of cheap quality acts? The food: meat Kabab was dry, shish tawook was great, chicken kabab was dry too. Tajin was great kebbah was sooo[ oily and I have no idea why they cut it halves. The turkish bread and homous was nice too. The seat was not comfi if you set more than an hour. Finally, I lived Hakan's before, and found it enjoyable especially with that lady who baked the bread and came moving when drums starts. Now-a-days, it starts to become like others, the restaurant needs to maintain the same level when started, using the same members or similar not looking for a cheaper alternatives. Cheaper ingredients means cheaper quality and services. Go back to the...

Positive points: -The Saudi girls working at the reception are very professional and friendly and give a great first impression. -Location and view are amazing, very wide terrace directly at the sea. -Service is ok, some new staff don't know anything even items names but they are doing acceptable service, other waiters are good. Beside that everything goes negative from there. -Food is way below average, neither authentic nor tatsy. Gavurdag salad is just fatoush with walnuts, humus and muhamara are one of the worst, pide served on the side came almost frozen, lahmajun dough is definitely not authentic, adana kebab was full of fat pieces, manti is average, ayran came with ice cubes lol.. -Prices are very expensive compared to quality (what i mentioned above are for 440 SR) -No spices or condiments at the table. I don't know if breakfast is better, but for lunch and dinner items, unfortunately one of the worst.

The place is very wonderful, the general atmosphere is beautiful, our orders were Iskender, delicious, and the lamb chops were very tender and delicious. The tabbouleh was dry, I didn't like it. The grape leaves were delicious and sour. I ordered cortadillo coffee, it was very wonderful and delicious. What I didn't like were the flies, they were very numerous and disgusting. The places near the window are bad because of the sun and the heat, I changed my table 3 times because the sun would hit my eyes or it was hot. Also, setting a specific amount for the bill according to the place, I don't think it's logical, especially in hot weather, no one wants to sit in the sun, and I pay at least 150 per person. As for the prices, they are high, and I expect that it is only because of the location, but if it is about the food, then it is illogical.

“I had high hopes for this place, and while the food and hookah were good, my overall experience was extremely disappointing. My friends and I spent over five hours here, enjoying our time and spending a significant amount. We even brought games to play, which seemed fine initially. However, after hours of being there, we were suddenly informed that ‘playing is not allowed,’ supposedly due to restaurant policy. What frustrated me the most was the timing. If it truly is a policy, why weren’t we informed from the beginning? To be told after we had already settled in and invested hours of our time felt unfair and ruined the entire mood. I’m disappointed that such an important rule wasn’t mentioned upfront. Overall, it was an unpleasant ending to what could have been a good experience.”
