Ah, Piatto At The Villageāwhere your taste buds embark on an unexpected journey, and not necessarily in a good way.
Letās kick things off with the complimentary salad, shall we? It was quite the experience! The dressing was so thoughtfully tossed into the bowl like a surprise party for our taste buds. Who needs a well-mixed salad when you can have the thrill of guessing how much dressing to add? The temperature of the salad was forgiving enough to distract from the chaos of self-mixing, so Iāll give them credit for that.
Now, onto the dynamite shrimp. I didnāt realize we were ordering a creamy shrimp soup! The lack of crunch made it feel like I was biting into a soggy pillow rather than enjoying a crispy appetizer. Perhaps a bit more dynamism in the crunch department would elevate the dish from "a culinary tragedy" to "barely edible."
As for the spaghetti bolognese, it was a true masterpieceāif the goal was to serve the most unappetizing brown slop imaginable. If youāre looking for the vibrant red of fresh tomatoes, you might want to recalibrate your expectations. The overpowering onion flavor was a bold choice, expertly drowning out any hope of tasting actual meat. Bravo on that!
And then there was the burrata pizza, a delightful enigma. It was doughy in a way that made me question if I was eating pizza or a bread pillow. Iām still trying to figure out how they managed to achieve that level of doughiness; itās practically an art form.
Now, letās give credit where itās dueāArchie, our waiter, was a shining star in this otherwise dim dining experience. His superb service was like a ray of light in an otherwise murky culinary landscape, and itās a mystery why he isnāt running the kitchen too.

The service was subpar. The servers at times seemed uninterested, or didnāt respond to āthank you.ā We had to ask for the garlic bread for them to bring it, and they didnāt seem too happy about it for some reason. It felt throughout as if I was eating food with their money. Only the reception was a bit welcoming.
The atmosphere was generally good, but it was strongly affected by the apathetic service.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had dinner at Piatto Restaurant and overall it was a great experience. I ordered the Mushroom & Chicken Fettuccini which was absolutely delicious ā fresh ingredients and balanced flavors. The Pepsi was served cold and promptly. The service was excellent; the staff was friendly and I was seated immediately with no wait. I spent around SAR 102 which included VAT, and I believe the price was fair for the quality. The atmosphere was clean but nothing very special; it could use some soft music or decor to enhance the vibe. Overall, I recommend this place especially for solo diners or anyone craving good pasta....
