La PLAYA — Restaurant in Dakar

Went last night to meet some friends, great location, like you’re right in the beach. Or the beach was right on us. The waves were so powerful the sea spray splashed right up on the terrace. Before it got really wet the staff moved our table. Super glad because we would have gotten completely drenched. Some other tables did. One woman sat right back where we were sitting and a wave rolled up and totally smacked her. She was in the sweet spot right where the waves crashed below the terrace. We had the steak, the Alfredo penne, pizza and the grilled chicken. All tasty. Steak was tender, rare, a bit pricey for the portion, but I guess you have to factor in the cost of the sea spray and the view. Pretty busy. Off street parking, which is great. Would try again, but watch...

The place looked scanty, probably because of the holiday. There was no music or light in the background to welcome us. I brought my friends there because I had been there before and enjoyed my previous experience about 2 years ago. Things have changed, food doesn't match prices, and descriptions dont match what is received.

My friends were disappointed, and i felt ashamed.

Next time, give us pictures of your menu so we know what we're ordering. Seafood can not be soup with fish and...

Nice view. Nice staff. The food is not that good. The staff should be retrained on customer service. Got a drink that was too sweet and politely asked him to fix it. It came back the same. Asked him if I could exchange it to another one. He said no. If clients are not satisfied you should do your best to meet their expectations. I go regularly for the view and sunset.
