LOR Restaurant — Restaurant in Western Area

I had heard of this restaurant before and seen the prices (eg $40 for steak) which I felt were exorbitant for a restaurant in Freetown. I got convinced against my better judgment to visit It seems to be a paradise for posers wanting (likely social media) photographs within the restaurant whilst people were eating. My daughter had the seafood platter (at $38) and complained about the taste of the shrimp. I tasted it and it was certainly not right and tasted unpleasant. I called the person serving who then called the manager His response to our complaint was; 'I have tasted it and it tastes alright to me' - a surprising response for what is meant at the prices to be a 'high end' restaurant In general, the food was underwhelming. The only reason that I have given the score 1 was for the outdoor scenery as the restaurant is at the top of a multi-storey building near the beach. We had few disastrous dinners at this overhyped place. No consistency in dishes taste or composition over time, entrees arrive after main dish, which might be barely warm. Our last attempt at medium to rare T-bone steak order turned into circus- meat was bland, overcooked to the point of inedible, chips sad and soggy; management did not apologise or compensate in any way- every item went into a final bill. Waiting staff has absolutely zero connection to the kitchen. From time to time chef comes to deliver their expensive gilded steaks, accompanied by extremely loud music and fireworks. Worst experience ever!!!! We ordered sushi (6 platters) and 1 chicken mushroom. We waited an hours and 30 minutes. The owner’s children were sitting in front of us. The waiter came to apologize to us saying that they gave the priority for the owner’s children and they gave them our plates. We were so upset, the service is so bad. Just a tip for the restaurant: your clients are more important than the owner and his children. You have the worst service and will make sure to tell everyone about it.

Moreover, the sushi tastes so bad and only the salmon salad and cappacio tastes good. The mushroom chicken tastes so dry.
