I believe they will foresee this review coming. First and foremost, they weren't very welcoming when we arrived. I was a table of 2 with my wife, we came in friendly, I even greeted them and thanked them every time they served us but was simply shrugged off.
Food came quite fast, taste was lacking in comparison to my experiences at the Lucky plaza outlet.
So here's the part that gets my 1 star. The table was stacked as we ordered a lot of food and they didn't clear my table. I had approached a lady to informed her i spent more than $50 purchase for my meal and was hopping if I am able to get the free Martabak. She was simply rude and said "you can only choose two flavors, you want eat now or takeaway". After I chose to dine in, she simply said across the dinning area to a malay lady that free martabak to dine in.
So what happened in the next 15min or more, I was simply waiting, with the stacked plates on my table, as they cleared tables around me. Once in awhile looking at my table as if I was taking up space, do note that it's 445pm and the restaurant was not busy. I then decided that I was annoyed and approached the lady again and she was then looking panicky as she went to the kitchen to check. What made it worst, was that she came to the counter and asked a Chinese uncle to help her key in the order, which then prompted me to go up to them since I'm seated just in front of the counter.
I asked him how long for the item, he simply said coming out already, but he asked the lady in malay why never out, she replied they forgot to key. Upon hearing that, I asked him in malay, how long will it take, if waited close to 20min now and I'm going to be late for work. Which then he says 5min. I then proceed to tell him I need to leave fot abit to make some purchase and will be back to collect it as a takeaway.
Whole interaction, no apologies and no admitting to the lapse on their part for missing out my order. It annoys me because I have been nice to them from the beginning and got trashed in the end. As a chef myself, I do not like to make a bad review, knowing how much it stings their image. But for that kind of attitude with 60% of occupancy and a full 5 staff on the floor, the experience is such a horrible one and I will gladly blacklist this outlet to dine at the one at lucky plaza, where the staff has been very attentive, friendly and always check in on my table during my dining there, both peak and non peak. Plus the food quality is so...
Read moreHad a terrible dining experience at the Century Square branch. We were seated and our orders taken, and we then waited 40 mins only to learn that our order had never been sent through. Waited 40 minutes for nothing. After we complained, the service was so disorganized, it took them 10 minutes to realise that they had not just forgotten our drinks, but our entire meal. Despite all the errors, we still decided to re-order our meal, and were asked to pay for our meal, including an item they served earlier on that we didn’t order and assumed was a complimentary dish. We initially refused to pay for that item, considering it was their mistake, but the senior waitress simply said that they did not provide such complimentary dishes, and we should have to pay for it. We felt this was completely unreasonable, given the long wait time for our meal and all their errors. Because of this our dinner was delayed a full hour, and we ended up eating right up until closing time. By the end of our meal, waiters were hovering like buzzards to take our plates and even stood right next to our table to pressure us to leave. Such pressure was unnecessary as we will not be coming back to this place again. Awful service, and only average food. Do...
Read moreOrder smash chicken from the Malay lady staff thinking it’s chicken thigh because all the menu only show thigh. Came out was super hard breast meat. Feedback made but was told I suppose to request. If it’s a regular stall outside I understand but this is a shop inside a mall and the menu should not be misleading. If different parts need to be request, at least highlight it somewhere in the menu. I can’t eat the breast meat as it just too tough so no choice I order another beef rendang to carry on with my meal. I felt staff should have at least empathize and acknowledge the feedback as genuine. One Credit to them is the side dishes, beef rendang and sambal is solid.
Update: Towards the end of my meal, I think this Malay lady staff maybe know I am writing something online about them. Literally Immediately once I took the last mouth, she came and ask with just one word ‘done’? Suggesting she want to clear my plates. The whole body language is suggesting like she wanted me out of that place asap. I just stay silence and took my leave while still chewing my last mouth. Yup I am definitely done with your stall!!
At least while walking out, the Chinese old man staff says...
