Terrible experience. Unhygienic practices and disrespectful service – please avoid this shop.
I ordered a plate of chicken fried noodles and fish soup noodles. After waiting more than 30 minutes with no food served, I approached the staff to ask if the food was even being prepared. I mentioned that if it wasn’t ready, we would rather cancel the order.
Shockingly, instead of preparing a fresh bowl, the staff went to another table that arrived 10–15 minutes after us, picked up a bowl of fish soup noodles that had been sitting there for 5–10 minutes, and tried to serve it to us—claiming it was mistakenly sent to the wrong table.
That’s completely unacceptable and unhygienic. Serving food that has already been placed on another customer’s table is a serious health concern. We rejected it immediately.
While we were still trying to reason with the staff, the chicken fried noodles were suddenly ready, and they insisted we take it, even though the trust was already broken. We refused, but they still demanded that we pay for the food we never ate. In the end, we paid just to avoid further argument and left the shop deeply disappointed.
This kind of service is appalling and dangerous. If you care about hygiene and basic customer respect, do yourself a favor and stay away...
Read moreFood is great. Love their signature fish. I chose less spicy and the taste is perfect for me. Generous amount of lala and prawns in it too. One full fish, don't taste fishy as they have fried it. Not overcook as fish meat was meaty, tender and succulent.
There is an opening promotion going on whereby you order a main fish and complimentary items. I chose the dessert. The desert was weird lol. Cendol with brown sugar jelly. The sugar level was just nice but I don't like the peanut topping. It taste weird.
There is only one server so you might have to wait a little longer when taking order and asking for stuff. I went at 1730hrs and was the 2nd pair dine in couple.
At about 1845hrs, the eatery is half filled...
Read moreThe best 探鱼 that I’ve had in Singapore so far. (And I’ve had tried quite a few). The Hunan dishes were deliciously flavoured, not too salty, and the spiciness level was just right as well.
The meat of the Mala fish that we had was fresh and the exterior was not over fried. The chicken was tender and the sauce was not over seasoned. Both of the dishes went perfectly with rice.
If you love century egg like I do, please try the century egg dish that they have here. It’s absolutely delectable and you cannot just have one piece.
Best place to visit on a cold rainy day to enjoy hot, hearty...
