Came here last week with my partner while on a trip to Singapore. I ordered the striploin (fillet) steak, medium-well, and my partner the ribeye, medium-rare. We ordered asparagus and chips as sides, and a tomato soup to share for a starter.
The soup was excellent. Very tasty, creamy, rich and thick. The chips were tasty but could have been doing with a litte more crispiness. The asparagus was really nice and well-cooked. Portion sizes of all of these dishes were very good.
My steak was excellent. Very soft, juicy, tender and tasty meat, even at medium-well done. The pepper sauce which I asked for was nice, but nothing special. A creamier pepper sauce would have been better. There was also not enough of it. For a $100SGD steak, there should be plenty of sauce.
My partner's steak was very good, but more chewy. This may or may not be at the fault of Bedrock because the cut of meat is different. My partner ended up wishing she ordered my striploin.
The ambience was very good, and the booth seats we were given were comfortable and the table nice and big.
Service was fast, with our food and drinks coming quickly (this was a Friday night at 8.30PM with a moderately full restaurant at the time). However, the waiters were not particularly polite, no-one asked how our meal was (something that may not be culturally common in Singapore, but it would be a nice touch for a waiter to ask how our meal was due to the lavish and expensive nature of the restaurant). Not only that, no-one ever came to our table to offer another dirnk despite my drink clearly being empty. It felt like the staff were simply doing their bare minimum and we didn't feel particularly welcome at the venue. Disappointing for a place of this caliber.
Total bill was around $300SGD for 2 steaks, 2 sides, a starter and one drink. Memorable steak, but too expensive to eat again before my return back to the UK. It was nice for a treat, but I will try another place next time I want steak. It's a little on the overpriced side in my view.
The service did let the experience down somewhat, which has also put me off coming back.
Top tip: If you're having water, don't order the bottled water, unless you don't mind paying around $9 for it. Order tap water instead.
Food: 4.5/5 Generally excellent, with a few minor faults. Atmosphere: 5/5 Perfectly lit, airy and nice colours. Service: 2.5/5 Fast but disinterested staff. No effort to be polite. Value: 3.5/5 Good food but you pay a lot for it, a...
Read moreReservation was made a month ahead to avoid disappointment. It was my husband's treat for my birthday 🎂, so that explains. We are usually the impromptu type. Anyways, I was delighted when the restaurant called for confirmation. Upon arrival, we were greeted and showed to our table. The staff worked seamlessly well together. Our server, Michelle, was a lovely lady and took care of us well. I told her I was going to utilize 'the entertainer' app and she was kind to explain what's included in the menu for the 1-for-1 main course. She also recommended chilli corn (with bacon!!), which was yummy! And we had to go for sautéed mushrooms cos my husband doesn't want cheese on his sides. I should return with my bestie just to try out other sides. So many other nice choices. We had their Mac n Cheese before and it was sooooo yummy. 🤩
Anyways, back to our dinner. First up was the freshly baked bread. Fresh from oven indeed. They have a in-house baker. I could see his doughs patiently on his table. 😍 I had to stop at 1 (they would return to ask if you would like seconds), because I was waiting excitedly for our oysters! So fresh, fat n juicy and perfect with the sauce served. It's a star dish. 🤩 We didn't feel like having wine, so we ordered Asahi beer and cocktail Moscow Mule. Wine would probably greatly enhanced the 300g Ribeye cap steak and the 300g Bedrock pepper steak. Steak was cooked medium-rare, just the way we like it. Every mouth was juicy, tender and flavourful. I should try their Aged beef USAD ribeye some time. It should be more flavorful. 🥰 We had an enjoyable dinner with the nice ambience. And the kind staff presented a piece of black forest cake for our dessert. What a pleasant surprise! 🎂🍰💖🚀 I definitely will return, cos it's so comfortable having steak there. Every staff is so professional and friendly. As we were leaving, it was raining heavily outside, and a male staff with specs offered us the other door to avoid the rain. So sweeeeet. Felt like going home for a meal and everyone is so kind to want to make this experience a lovely one for you. 💖👏👍 Well done to the Head chef, Manager and the team.
P/s: pardon me about the quality of the photos. I didn't want to disturb the other diners by using flash. And at the end, I was so full and delightfully tipsy to even take...
Read moreIn the last 16 years, this is only my third time at Bedrock, and each visit has been nothing short of exceptional. Bedrock is one of those places that I reserve for special occasions, whether it’s a date night with my wife or a gathering with very special friends. The ambiance at Bedrock is warm and inviting, with a sophisticated yet cozy atmosphere that makes every dining experience feel exclusive and memorable.
One of the highlights of our latest visit was the 300g Australian Grass-fed Ribeye. This steak is a true testament to Bedrock’s commitment to quality. Cooked to perfection, the ribeye was incredibly tender and flavorful, with a perfect balance of juiciness and char. Each bite was a delight, and the rich, savory taste of the grass-fed beef really stood out. The steak was accompanied by a selection of delectable sauces and sides, enhancing the overall dining experience.
But the real showstopper of the evening was the infamous Bedrock Mac & Cheese. This dish is nothing short of legendary, and for good reason. The mac and cheese at Bedrock is creamy, cheesy, and utterly indulgent. The blend of cheeses creates a rich, velvety sauce that clings to every piece of pasta, while the crispy breadcrumb topping adds a delightful crunch. It’s comfort food at its finest, and it’s easy to see why it’s one of the most talked-about dishes on the menu.
In addition to the outstanding food, the service at Bedrock is always top-notch. The staff are attentive and knowledgeable, ensuring that every detail is taken care of and that your dining experience is as enjoyable as possible. They are always ready to offer recommendations and make sure that your meal is tailored to your preferences. Our server was considerate enough to even recommending that we only order 1 side dish and 2 would be too much for both of us!
In summary, Bedrock is a place that never fails to impress. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply enjoying a night out with loved ones, the combination of exceptional food, impeccable service, and a wonderful atmosphere makes it a perfect choice. If you haven’t been yet, I highly recommend treating yourself to a meal at Bedrock – you won’t be...
