Canteen 16 — Restaurant in Singapore

Latest update as on 10/08/2022: The Indian canteen food is generally good and economical. The service staff however lack social skills and is unaware of her surroundings I believe. I ordered my prata first. She gave masala dosa and other things to people who ordered after me. After waiting for 15min, upon seeing this, I went upto her and asked. She outright bluffed telling that I ordered after them and is willing to give my money back without even me asking for it. I , as a regular customer to Ananda Taj and this canteen ever since it got opened, was taken aback. I’m in a rush to go back to work and this lady is denying me food . I felt bad as She raised her voice on me, moreover in-front of other customers. Even after I told that a couple of people who got their food are my colleagues working in the same building and I saw them order after me. Hope the management does something about this.

Zion Ramen($5.80)(Miso Tonkotsu) Cheap and tasty. Soft noodles in savoury soup; topped with narutomaki, black fungus, spring onion, crunchy flavoured bamboo shoot, seaweed, ajisuke tamago and 3 moderate slices of flavourful fatty pork belly cha siu with chewy tender meat & melt in the mouth fats.😋

Fried Chicken Curry Rice($5) 5 regular crispy tender chicken karaage relaxing upon a pool of everyday mild spicy Japanese curry roux with plenty amount of onion, potato and carrot while enjoying a view snowy mountain of pearl rice.

There many names for this canteen but this is probably the only canteen that is open till late 11pm is the closing time for its last store, economic bee hoon. Not for picky eaters, it fulfil the purpose of a supper and the staff is pretty friendly.

Would like to give a shout out to a hidden gem. There's a Thai wester fusion store here and the green curry is pretty not bad. A 3.5-4/5 mark I would give, the flavouring is there and the spiciness mild yet with existence.
