Chimi's Somerset — Restaurant in Singapore

Unfortunately, my friends and I had quite an unpleasant experience here. The food was good but the staff were not.

We had a reservation for 11pax. Upon arrival, they told us that we had to have a minimum spend of $500 for a group that size. However, this was not told to us when we placed the reservation on the phone. When we decided to find someplace else to eat, they told us we could stay with the minimum fee waived but only for 1.5 hours. We decided to stay as we were a big group and could not find someplace else.

We had 2 rounds of orders as our friends came late. In the first round, we ordered 1 chicken quesadilla and another one in the next round. However, due to some miscommunication, it got recorded as 3 on their end and there was 1 extra. After telling them that we did not order the last one, Keagan (one of the servers) insisted that we did and told us that we had to either have it at the restaurant or takeaway the extra quesadilla. When we said that we were too full and did not want to, he rolled his eyes and walked away.

We thought that was over but a few moments later, Rini (another server) came over to argue on the same point and even challenged us by asking if we indeed heard our friend saying the correct order. At this point, we were feeling uncomfortable and frustrated and asked her if we had to take the quesadilla even if we didn't want to. She then proceeded to roll her eyes and walk away. The 3 servers never paid attention to our table since then and continued to throw glances our way which made the dinner uncomfortable.

We went to pay for the dinner and upon checking the bill, still found that they had included the extra quesadilla as part of the charge even though we did not eat it. We then had to tell them again at the cashier that we did not order it. Finally, they reluctantly removed it from the bill, but not without letting us know that this will be marked as "wastage'.

All in all, the poor attitude and pestering of the staff made our experience very uncomfortable and we felt that it was really unprofessional service. All because of...one quesadilla.

Side note: We checked with them on their names before leaving the restaurant and we are surprised to find multiple back to back reviews tonight specifically naming Rini and Keagen for good service. Seems a little...

Booked a reservation for 11 pax on a call and the staff on the call did not even tell me that there was a minimum spend. My friend arrived first and the staff said there was a min spend of $500 for 11 pax. My friend then said to them that this minimum spend was not informed to my friend when she made the booking. Waiter then said it’s okay and that we can only have the table for one and a half hour. As such, it be good if staff could have informed my friend earlier about this minimum spending when the booking was made

We did two batches of ordering And ordered 1 chicken quesadilla for each batch but for some reason it became 3 quesadilla Keagan then came over and told us it was our fault and insisted we took it when we were very sure we ordered correctly So we refused to take the extra one when we were all already very full, he then rolled his eyes and stomped off to gossip with his other colleagues

We thought it was settled, then Rini came over to argue with us again ??? Its just one freaking quesadilla and if it was a miscommunication why did she have to force us to have it She also rolled her eyes and walked away

We thought all was well but when we checked the bill they still went ahead to charge the extra item???

We also asked for their names to leave a google review and now we see 6 reviews within the past hour with the waiters were specifically included??? So the whole shop knew their name? Its so obvious they’re scared and trying to inflate the ratings

Overall Food is ok but service is terrible and unprofessional with...

I came here after seeing all the great reviews only to be pretty disappointed. The food did taste good, the beef quesadillas were great. The guacamole and chips came out quickly, but the guacamole was brown on the top, had clearly been sitting out for a while. The chicken bowl was quite good.

I ordered the chicken nachos which were ready in the kitchen counter out in the air. The chef indicated to the 1 server that it was ready multiple times, yet she continued to do other tasks, make drinks (many), clean tables, charge customers for their bill etc. For reference, there was 2 other small tables dining at the same time as us. I waited upwards of 10 minutes for my food while watching it just sit there, while the server did other things and the chef came out for a few minutes to speak to her, grab a phone charger, and then went back into the kitchen. My food was still sitting there. She finally gave it to me and it was ice cold.

Not impressed considering the bill added up to $97, including a service charge of $7.30, for poor service and ordering through an app?? Why did I pay an extra $7.30 on top of the already pricey food?? Which was served in cardboard bowls and with cheap takeaway cutlery??

I also was drinking a cocktail with my meal and asked for a glass of tap water. She said they don’t serve free water and I had to pay for a bottle. Ridiculous considering you had served alcohol and should be...
