Have been eating at this place for many years but I feel like today this has to be given a bad review.
My friends and I dined in for a late night supper and one of us ordered a Roti John daging, NO CHEESE. After which we received our food and started eating. However after my friend took a bite or two, he realized there was cheese inside the Roti John and called back to one of the staff to say we received the wrong order and said we ordered no cheese. My friend isn't usually picky about food but he is lactose intolerant therefore he cannot carry on with the food.
After good 15 minutes the food still hasn't came back so we asked the staff about it. The staff went to the manager and within seconds he brought back the same plate of Roti John and said that is our order. We mentioned we ordered without cheese. The manager then said but we already ate the food. We argued that my friend couldn't eat the cheese because he is lactose intolerant. The manager then gave us a rude remark, which was very unprofessional and walked away.
While waiting for the replacement, we see him talking negatively about our table with his staff and I find that very rude. One of the staff finally came with the correct order and apologised although it wasn't really his fault. However the manager didn't.
As my friends and I have eaten here many years, we also have encountered many times the manager have been rude and unfriendly to some people and even us at different perspective and time. However today was the last straw.
The food is great. The place is great. The other staffs are friendly and nice. However the manager (the fat uncle that's usually on the POS) should really change his ways of service.
EDIT: PS found out from a friend he argued with another customer in earlier...

Read moreHighlighted reviews of this place were on its affordability, which made me excited. However, I must say such claims were either of the past and untrue now or purely false.
$7 for a 3 dish nasi padang and teh tarik - is the affordability in the room with us?
While I understand the opaque nature of nasi padang pricing, I could not wrap my head around the price for my dishes (picture for reference) Calling this place affordable is akin to calling this place a cafe, its a cafe in name but has no features of a 'cafe' whatsoever.
Now despite the initial set back I was still willing to be open to the taste as a form of redemption. However, I was left sorely disappointed.
Long beans were great, probably the best out of the three. Bergedil was average but the chicken wing. The chicken wing was blatantly frozen, and being left out in the open made it a sorry state. There was no element of my meal being a 'Muslim meal', rather cheap components of frozen food placed together. I came at about 10:30 am so I don't think the time argument can do much justice here.
Teh Tarik was okay, nothing out of the ordinary
Overall, I was disappointed and the high price definitely added to this feeling of disappointment. An added word of caution, the person before me ordered a 4 dish nasi padang (with fish as one dish) and a gado gado which added up to $25.
Be aware of the transparency pricing issue and if you're feeling frisky, don't order their seafood. Then again if you go for their seafood I probably wouldn't count it on them to be delicious and well worth the...
