Lazy Lizard Flora Vista — Restaurant in Singapore

Brought my whole family for lunch here. Very very wonderful food and interesting deco. We had quite a lot of food there. One interesting offer is that kids under 12 eat (from the kid menu) for FREE! There is the typical 10% service charge and 7% GST.

We had Fish and Chips (Kids menu) (normally priced at 10.8 ) for free, Crabby (Pesto) Fettuccine (21.8), BBQ Pork Ribs (25.8) and Rack of Pork (30.8). Basically we ordered all the award winning dishes (Singaproe Food Masters 2021) and after tasting them we think they really deserve the awards!!

As for the drinks we had the Americano and Cappuccino. Very top notch beans which has nice mellow and deep flavour with a slight tinge of accidic. Nice! Please note that they give FREE alkaline water (pH 8.0) in nice eco-friendly cartoon boxes.

Rack of Pork (30.8) In my humble opinion, I think this is the star dish of the restaurant. It is a huge succcelent slab of pork rack laying on top of creamy smooth mashed potato and accompanied with grilled garlic and sauteed musroom. Even my wife that is not a fan of pork was won over. The pork was grilled to perfection. Inside is juicy and outside is a nice crust that is crispy. It is infused with flavour. It is a fatty cut but the fats doesn't feel oily and taste excellent. I think it is the type of pork that they use. I suspect that it is Iberico Pork. The grilled garlic is grilled slowly and eat with the pork bring an elevated level of flavour to it. It is a huge portion! Good for sharing. Overall 5 star dish!!

BBQ Pork ribs (25.8) For BBQ ribs, I am looking for soft tender meat but not so soft until they dissolved at the slightest touch and at the same time has a nice crust outside that is charred just enough to bring out the flavour but not until it burnt. Lazy Lizard didn't dissapoint in this! Well done!

Crabby (Pesto) Fettuccine (21.8) This is another award winning dish. However, I have to warn would be diners that order this only if you really love crab! It has very intense and deep crab flavour through every mouthful. To some it may even be considered as fishy. If you like crab, then this is a heavenly dish. Each mouthful is pack full of crab flavour. It is very rich and creamy so don't advice just having this alone. You may feel 'jelak'. Since this is marketed as a crabby dish and they really delivered, it is 5 stars again!

First disappointment after 3 times here and 1 at Promenade. The last time was just this Wednesday.

Arrived on time to hear of a 50-mins time limit which was not mentioned during reservation by my wife. Had this been mentioned during the reservation, we would not have chosen to come here.

Were told that the food can be served in 5-mins. We are a group of 5. A steak alone would take significantly more than 5mins. Be realistic. Wednesday’s 3 set lunches took at least 15 mins before soup was served and 30 mins before the mains arrived.

Realistically, by the time the order is placed and food for everyone is served, we would have just a little time left to consume the meal, pay and scram.

It is understandable if you want to turn the table for the next reservation. But look, at no time was it mentioned there would be such a time constraint during the reservation. In fact, my wife said there were options of 6 or 6:30pm. How did the time limit of 6:50pm come into the picture only when we arrived? We are not walk-ins. We had a reservation.

I believe this is an unintended situation as all previous experience was good, especially the food. Still, this disappointment was least expected.

Funky restaurant name but I swear the food was damn legit. This cozy neighbourhood hideout is truly a hidden gem. ⁣ 🐮 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐁𝐞𝐞𝐟 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐤 ($35.80): 250g NZ beef cheek cooked to pure tenderness and perfection. Served with truffle mashed potatoes, garlic confit and roasted vegetables, each side was equally well-executed. ⁣ ⁣ 🍃 𝐂𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐛𝐲 𝐏𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨 ($24.80): One of the best pastas I’ve tasted 🤩 Feels like a cross over of pesto x aglio olio, and they were also very generous with the crab meat. ⁣ 🐷 𝐒𝐭 𝐋𝐨𝐮𝐢𝐬 𝐁𝐁𝐐 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐑𝐢𝐛𝐬 ($32.80): Award winning bbq ribs 👏🏻 The meat fell off the bone so easily, was tender and had a slight char flavour — ticking off boxes for the perfect ribs. Felt it could be saucier though. ⁣ ⁣ 🍞 𝐁𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 & 𝐑𝐮𝐦 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐓𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭 ($14.80): Comes with choice of coffee / tea / juice! Damn worth. Subtle rum taste from the maple syrup which I wished was stronger. The toast was decent but kinda dry — so we did a review in exchange for 2 scoops of ice cream, added it in, and was MUCH BETTER. ⁣
