Not one to post a review usually, this place is an exception. Exceptionally inflexible. This place serves decent Italian food. The Jewel outlet is better. Been here a couple of times over the years though. While the food is alright, I think the service staff need to be a bit more flexible and have more empathy. It’s one thing to act blur and do the bare minimum as a wait staff, it’s another to cause customers to feel upset. And upset was what we felt. Went there for lunch with 5 other family members, each of us ordered a meal except for one person who was on dietary restrictions. When that family member who is on dietary restrictions took out his lunchbox to eat, he was told that no outside food was allowed. Yes, but why? The rest of us are paying and eating at your restaurant. He is there to join us for a family meal. The only reason he can’t buy your food is because he has a medical condition. Because of the staff’s inflexibility, he had to stand outside to eat by himself. We’ve been to many restaurants over the past year and none has ever told him “no outside food allowed”. The least you could have done was recommend something he could eat right? Nope. It was just a plain “sorry not outside food, sorry ah…” Eh, any robot in haidilao or other restaurants can do that too lah. The only reason humans are still preferred for service is because of the human touch. Having empathy, having flexibility.
I don’t blame the service staff. Perhaps they lack training, perhaps the management is strict on this. But I want to point out that if your reason for not allowing that one member in a group of 6 to bring his own food due to dietary restrictions/medical reasons, is due to your fear of food poisoning and getting blamed for it, it’s 2025…cctvs are everywhere. I’m sure you can see what each of your customers ordered and ate. If the big chains like din tai feng, paradise group and many more, can make an exception and make judgements with a heart, then I think you need to seriously review your practices. It was an utterly disappointing experienced. And it’s not like your food is any cheaper than the restaurants I...
Read moreDO NOT EAT HERE. The food is MICROWAVED, no matter how many times they tell you it’s ‘fresh’. I have attached a photo with the time we placed the order through their table service app. Precisely 3 MINUTES later the first dish arrived (PIPING HOT). A minute after that the second dish arrived, again, piping hot. There is physically no way pasta can be cooked, served & brought to our table within 3 minutes. The sauce was very clearly NOT FRESH. It was disgustingly greasy (as shown above), with grease bubbles, and horribly sweet & processed tasting. My partner requested a tiny pot of extra cheese (before we tasted how bad the food was), to our surprise they charged an extra $3 for this!?
The garlic bread also somehow came out only 3 minutes after ordering. But of course this was ‘fresh’ also… Despite it being dry, stale & cheap oily taste.
After taking one mouthful of both dishes we immediately caught the attention of the rude staff, and they finally came over. We politely told them that the food wasn’t up to the 50$ standard & sent it back.
We then told the manager about our poor experience, and told him we wanted to leave. He then had the audacity, to not only force us to pay for the warm 300ml bottle of water that we barely drank, but also added SERVICE CHARGE onto this!
The staff were just incredibly rude. I would raise my hand to grab their attention about the food & would even make eye contact but they’d still proceed to ignore you. They would huff & puff when you asked them for something & would mope around the restaurant like a fart in the wind.
I hope that whoever is reading this can really understand what this restaurant actually offers.
Shame on the staff & the chefs that lie about the food being ‘fresh’.
Please DO NOT waste your time & money on this...
Read moreMe and my friends recently dined at your establishment and wanted to share some thoughts for potential improvement. there are areas where I believe some attention could enhance the overall experience.
Service: I found the service to be fast even during peak hours, which positively impacted the flow of the meal. We had made a reservation for a large group one week in advance but the restaurant staff seemed caught off guard at the number of tables we would be occupying. We even double confirmed a day before the reservation, but staff were not prepared. There was some unfriendly gestures from a male wait staff who did not want to accomodate our group but he seemed to be an exception. The rest of the wait staff were polite. Perhaps staff can be coached more on how to handle reservations and prepare accordingly.
Food Quality: The main course was flavorful, but the appetizer lacked seasoning and creativity. Aircon temperature caused the food to get cold too fast as well. Mashed potato was good but the second portion we ordered was too salty. The sea bass risotto was too dry.
Ambiance: The lighting was a bit dim, making it hard to read the menu comfortably. I believe that with some adjustments in these areas, the experience could be significantly improved. I look forward to seeing the positive changes in my future visits.
Thank you for considering...
