🟧 My Cosy Corner ▪︎587 Bukit Timah Road, #02-02 ▪︎Coronation Plaza, Singapore 269707
🟩 These were the takeaway/dabao dishes we ordered today on Sat, 28th June 2025 from "My Cosy Corner"
🟩 Food ● Mee Siam / SGD7.50 (➡️ takeaway box cost 50 cents) ● Kueh Pie Tee / SGD6 (🟠 6 cups) ● 2 popiah rolls / 🟨 SGD6.60 🟦 My husband and I have been coming to "My Cosy Corner" at Coronation Plaza for many years now, and it has remained one of our favourite spots for hearty, home-style Peranakan fare.
🟦 The food here is truly the star. ➡️ Their Kueh Pie Tee, Popiah, Mee Siam, Laksa, and Mee Rebus are consistently delicious, rich in flavour, and reminds me so much of the lovingly prepared Nonya dishes my late Peranakan parents used to make.
🟦 The Popiah is generously filled and freshly rolled, while the Laksa has a fragrant, lemak gravy that hits all the right notes. 🟨 I love their Kueh Pie Tee to bits. 🟨 And their Mee Siam is sedap sekali too. 🟪 As the name suggests, the eatery is a small, no-frills corner cafe nestled on the 2nd floor of Coronation Plaza. ➡️ Don’t expect fancy decor --- it’s a simple, utilitarian space with a few tables, mostly catering to regulars who come here for the food rather than the aesthetics. 🔹️ The ambience is informal and unpretentious, which adds to its nostalgic charm. 🟪 Service is basic but efficient – orders are taken and served promptly with no fuss. ✔️ During peak hours, it can get very busy, but the staff keeps things moving smoothly. 🟪 If you're looking for genuine, authentic and tasty Peranakan comfort food in a casual setting, I feel that "My Cosy Corner" is well...
Read moreBeen wanting to visit this place but it is quite far from my home, finally we have a few guests coming from overseas and I suggested we tried this place out. It was a Sunday so there was no popiah available, bummer.
They strangely serve Japanese food but I will say skip it if you can or unless you have a kid that can’t eat spicy food. We ordered a fishcake udon for one of our kids and th broth was heavily smelled like soya sauce for some reason.
What they do well I will say is the Kueh Pie Tee which comes as a set of 6 and you make it yourself with the braised turnip, fresh coriander leaves, so it was fun for the guests to try it out, love the chili that goes with it.
I had the mee siam and you do have to pay a bit higher to add a couple pieces of prawns in it, to be honest, next time I go there, I probably just go without it, didn’t think it worth that price for the prawns, but the mee siam itself was on point, the tanginess and sweetness balance was great, and I slurp up all the gravy that goes with the mee hoon. I did see a lot of others order laksa, didn’t get to try it but I am sure there is a good reason for it.
Perhaps next visit on a day that is not Sunday and an order of Laksa and popiah to see...
Read morei came here seeing all the positive reviews before.
when i reached level 2 i was immediately greeted by my favorite popiah store (ann chin) but i decided i would patronize here instead since everyone rave about the popiah here. in a recent video the son also mentioned his mom handmade the chilli so i thought its worth a try.
it’s a popular stall so there was a queue outside. i managed to get a solo seat by myself.
popiah came quickly within 10 minutes. never mind that it was sliced into 4 big pieces (you really have to have a big mouth/content will spill out if you try to eat in multiple bites), i was sorely disappointed that the popiah skin came cold, with warm content inside. (how??? and why???)
decided i’d give benefit of doubt and check in with the staff when i made payment. reason is cos the popiah skin are stored in a metal container and would only be taken out as they prepare each popiah. i felt they could have just warmed it slightly.
content was wet, crispy and crunchy. as much as the chili was enjoyable, i will not come back for the popiah. perhaps i would come back try other dishes like laksa (saw many ordering but hey, many ordered popiah...
