NVD consistently exceeds expectations! Donkey and I recently enjoyed a wonderful dinner there, and I'm compelled to share our experience. The restaurant itself boasts a vibrant and inviting atmosphere, which immediately set a positive tone for our meal. I'll admit, I'm not usually a fan of vegetarian food, but NVD completely changed my perspective.
We started with the Stir-fried Housemade Abacus Seeds ($7.80), a delightful dish featuring perfectly cooked abacus seeds with a satisfying texture and subtle flavor enhanced by a savory sauce. Next, we indulged in the Shroom Trotter with Aged Black Vinegar ($16.00), a truly unique and flavorful experience. The earthy mushrooms paired exquisitely with the tangy vinegar.
For our mains, we chose the Sambal Mixed Heavenly King Veg ($14.00), a vibrant and spicy dish that perfectly balanced bold flavors with a satisfying heat; and the Pineapple Fried Rice ($13.50), a classic executed exceptionally well fluffy rice and juicy pineapple chunks created a delightful balance of textures and tastes. We finished with a refreshing Soursop Juice ($3.50), the perfect complement to the richness of our meal.
This meal was a testament to NVD's commitment to fresh, high quality ingredients and creative culinary artistry. Every dish was beautifully presented, and the flavors were simply outstanding. The attentive and friendly service added to the overall pleasant dining experience. From the delicious food to the impeccable service and vibrant ambiance, NVD deserves all five stars. If you're seeking an exceptional vegetarian dining experience in Singapore, look no further! Highly...
Read moreNature Vegetarian Delights located in Upper Serangoon Road serve a variety of vegetarian dishes, noodles, fried rice, deserts and even vegetarian tau sau pia.
Its our first time there after watching a youtuber's recommendation. We tried vegetarian mala pot (strongly recommended by a lady vegetarian youtuber who appeared on Zermatt's youtube video ). We also ordered vegetarian olive rice, sambal fried rice, claypot tou fu and a pot of pu er tea. Except the mala pot that we need to choose the ingredients, the rest of the dishes we ordered are all in small sizes. For all the dishes and a pot of pu er tea we ordered including the mala pot, we paid only a total of $50 plus.
Suprisingly even for the small sizes of vegetarian dishes ordered, the dishes were not small at all. The portion is big.
The olive rice is not bad, as for the sambal fried rice, its not even spicy at all. But still given a price of only $5.50 each for the two plates of rice, its a reasonable pricing. As for the claypot tou fu, its flavourful and served hot.
However, for the mala pot strongly recommended by the lady vegetarian youtuber who appeared in Zermatt's youtube video, the level of spicyness certainly has a lot of room for improvement. We ordered level 2 spicyness ( 中辣) , but dissappointly even my girl who can't take spice as well as me find that it is totally not spicy at all!
It will certainly value add if Nature Vegetarian Delights Restaurant can put in more effort in improving the level of spicyness in their spicy dishes so as to cater to the taste bud of those who are looking for spicy, good and affordable vegetarian food.
On the general, Nature Vegetarian Delights serve a great variety of vegetarian dishes in certainly very affordable pricing. After eating, you may still shop for some vegetarian food stuff and even tau sau pia in...
Read moreSituated on the top floor of an old & worn Mall (Upper Serangoon Shopping Centre), when we last patronized them on a Sunday afternoon for lunch.
This busy Vegetarian Restaurant had a nostalgic vibe, due to its open concept sitting arrangements and its worn & dated decorations that maybe missed by some, when they move to their new location in June 2025.
The restaurant was almost filled before 12pm and luckily for us, we managed to get seated within 5 mins. Queue started to build up while we waited for our food, and length of queue stayed even after we finished our lunch about 1.5 hours later.
1st dish - Dried Chilli Monkey Head Mushroom Rice (Came about 50 mins after we placed our order via QR code on the table). Mushrooms were tender, meaty and drenched in rich, aromotic sauce of dried chilli. Paired with fluffy rice, its had a good balance of heat and umami.
2nd dish - Signature Handmade Roasted Yam ‘Duck’ with Thai Chilli Sauce. Crispy on the outside and tender within, dish is a masterful twist on a classic. However, the Thai Chilli Sauce did not compliment the dish well as it overpowering in my own opinion.
3rd dish - Homemade Wontan With Dry Noodle. 4th dish - Sweet & Sour Soy Meat were both mediocre though, in terms of flavours and texture.
5th dish - Crispy Mushroom ‘Eel’. Had crunchy crust, and soft chewy internal texture. Its had bold flavours and quite addictive.
Overall dining experience was fine but could have been better if we did not have to wait so long for our food, and service staffs more efficient, attentive. However its forgiving due to full capacity of the restaurant during our visit as they were trying their best to serve. Management may want to look into the issue of under staffing.
Will visit them again in their new location during off-peak to try their...
