An Exceptional Culinary Experience

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Original Greens, and I must say it was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. Every aspect of my visit surpassed my expectations, leaving me with a lasting impression that I'll cherish for a long time.

First and foremost, the ambiance of the restaurant was simply stunning. The moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by an elegant and inviting atmosphere. The tasteful decor, soft lighting, and attention to detail created a warm and sophisticated setting that was perfect for a memorable dining experience.

The service was impeccable. The staff members were not only highly professional but also genuinely passionate about their craft. They went above and beyond to ensure that every guest felt welcome and taken care of. From the moment I was seated until the end of my meal, the waitstaff provided attentive and personalized service, making me feel like a valued customer.

Now, let's talk about the food. The menu at Original Greens is a true culinary masterpiece. Each dish showcased the chef's exceptional skill and creativity. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the presentation was a work of art. Every bite was a revelation, bursting with unique combinations of ingredients that delighted my taste buds. Whether you're a fan of seafood, meat, or vegetarian cuisine, you'll find a wide variety of options that cater to every palate.

I must mention that the quality of the ingredients used in each dish was outstanding. From the freshest seafood to locally sourced produce, Original Greens demonstrated a commitment to using only the finest and most sustainable ingredients. It was evident in every bite, as the flavors were vibrant, and the textures were perfectly executed.

In addition to the exceptional food, Original Greens boasts an impressive wine selection. The sommelier was extremely knowledgeable and helped me choose the perfect pairing for my meal. Each sip complemented the flavors of the dishes, further enhancing the overall dining experience.

To top it all off, the dessert menu was a sweet symphony of indulgence. The desserts were beautifully presented and tasted as good as they looked. The creativity and attention to detail were evident in every spoonful, providing a delightful ending to an already remarkable meal.

In conclusion, Original Greens deserves every bit of its five-star rating. From the impeccable service to the exquisite food and delightful ambiance, this establishment sets the standard for fine dining. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply looking for an extraordinary culinary adventure, Original Greens is the place to be. I can't recommend it highly enough, and I can't wait to return for another unforgettable dining experience.

I hope this review captures the essence of an outstanding dining...

Atmosphere: The ambience was great with the open space concept. So it's not noisy even when there are a lot of people taking at the same time.

Food: The food was awesome. I think I'd let the pictures do the talking. There's just one thing that I don't understand. Since it's a vegetarian restaurant, why aren’t there more options to have them without garlic and onion? I understand that there are a lot of vegetarians who do not include them for religious reasons. My friend is a vegetarian because of her religion. She recommended us this place and wanted to try the western options. It was her 2nd visit, by the way. In the end,, she has to choose the local options as garlic and onion can be excluded from the dishes.

Service: The service staff are friendly and tried to make us comfortable. But some actions are alright when you are speaking to friends but not to a customer.

When my vegetarian friend asked what else can she choose from in the western food options since all consist garlic and onions, the waitress said," then just take salad since you can't eat so many things." This is so rude!

The staff seems to be unaware of how to handle food and cutlery. One waitress was serving a burger to another table, was trying to balance the burger. While carrying the plate, her thumb was supporting the burger

The same waitress was serving my lagsana. I was seated right inside. She warned us the pot is hot. So my friends moved away so that she can put the pot in front of me. Instead, she placed at the corner of the table and walked off. She could have walked out to the vacant space next to me and place it on my table. In the end, it was my friend who has to bring it over to me.

The service can be improved through training and being mindful of their role...

So my wife and I tried the nasi lemak, monkey head mushroom satay and original greens salad (wrong order was given). Overall I would say the food we ordered was good. The nasi lemak was flavourful, however I think the tempeh that came along with it, could be better. It was just plain. Could have done with some seasoning like turmeric and salt. The satay was also good, but I find that the peanut sauce served for the ketupat and cucumbers was too little. The original greens salad in my opinion is just so so. Nothing to shout about. The service can be improve much better. First was the wrong order taken by the waitress, my wife had asked for a recommendation on the appetisers, so she mentioned the original greens. We assumed that it was the original greens loaded baked potato from the appetisers menu, but what was served to us was the original greens from the salad menu. Of course we didn't return it as we don't know what to expect of the dish and eating through one quarter of it to realise that there was no potato. Secondly, was the nasi lemak order. So we had finished the salad, then the satay but the nasi lemak was still not served after half an hour. Had to get the attention of the waiter to get it rectified. They had sent my order of nasi lemak to another table. Saving grace was the staff did apologised for their mistake. A bit on the pricier side for some dishes. One serving of plain rice can set you back $3. If you can afford it, it is worth a try. Staff can also be better train in taking orders. Maybe repeat the orders back to customers before sending it to the kitchen.

Ps. Did not take a picture of the menu on...

This is truly a great place to have a Michelin Star experience, plus a great place to watch a movie after an excellent meal. I had a perfect night out with my partner. The ambience is great, open space and service is attentive and accommodating. The food is amazing, the Chef of this restaurant must be well trained. It has presentation flair and even the serving ware, plates, cups are well thought-out. I ordered the Wellington Steak, Wonton Soup, Satay and the Linguine Pesto and a cup of fruit tea. The Wellington was flawless, the mushroom filling steak with a crispy crust around it is just brilliant! The sauce that goes with it is--sublime. The linguine pesto is probably one of the best I've tasted. I'm fussy about this dish, and trust me--it is very good. The noodle is firm and springy, and the pesto saue is light, with pine nuts (and it's dairy free!!!) The satay is awesome with the peanut sauce (the peanut sauce could be chunkier). And the wonton soup has fat tasty dumplings, though the soup needs a bit more seasoning. All in all the overall meal is definitely a Michelin level experience. The menu is very impressive, mostly Italian and European focused, with also good options on local favourites like Laksa, Satay and Nasi Lemak. They also have a good dessert segment. I highly recommend this place. It would make sense to have dinner at 7pm and then have a good movie and the Shaw Theatre!
