Their Vegan Tacos is awarded SG's Top 50 Vegan dishes in 2021 by @abillion!

Do you know that Mexican food is named by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of mankind and Forbes named Mexico City one of the top ten cities for street food in the world?

Papi’s Tacos brings authentic and fuss-free Mexican fare to SG! Their Kitchen is helmed by Head Chef and Partner, Mauricio Espinoza (or Papi, as some like to call him) from Mexico. We had a chat with him and were touched by his sincerity and insistence on preparing his food in the traditional and laborious way to bring the best to his customers. For example, all his sauces are made in-house from scratch. They serve three types of basic housemade sauces (mild, medium or hot) which you can request or refill for free. We had the chipotle aioli sauce ($3) which was simply amazing!

Chilling out with friends with different dietary needs is now a breeze! Enjoy HAPPY HOUR 3-7PM daily, where you can get your SINGAPORE LAGER DRAUGHT, FROZEN LIME MARGARITA, HOUSE WINE BY GLASS or HOUSEPOUR SPIRITS at only $9++.

We tried the following dishes and we loved everything! You can taste the warm hospitality from the kitchen, as the food is not salty, yet exciting and exploding with flavours. The use of Impossible plant-based beef further elevates the texture and flavours.

🍽Mains: 🌱'CHEAT ON BEEF' (Vegan) Plant-Based Meat, Flour Tortilla, Guacamole, Capsicum, Onion, Coriander, Salsa Verde

🌱IMPOSSIBLE TACO (2PCS) (Vegan) Plant-Based Meat, Com Tortilla, Guacamole, Tomato Salsa, Lettuce, Coriander, Guajillo Hot Sauce

✅Mushroom QUESADILLA Served with Homemade Salsa + Sour Cream

🍸Drinks: 🔸️FROZEN LIME MARGARITA 🔸️AGUA FRESCA Fresh lime juice, mint leaves, agave nectar

Their drinks are so refreshing with their sweet sour blends.

It is a small restaurant with limited seatings and very popular; hence reservation is recommended. Located along Seah Street opposite to Raffles Hotel, there are some parallel parking lots.

Awesome place, but feels like staffs turn over too often…we are loyal customer but every time we come nowadays treated like tourists…serious looking new staffs and so stiff….we ordered 4 classic Margaritas and it was poured low in the small glass and I feedback they don’t care…and my colleague we drink few around and accidentally drop 1 empty glass by hit by elbow and we all apologised but there is no acknowledgement and pissed of face swipe the floor and ask my friend to get out of chairs and continued swiping with unfriendly face even though we keep sorry, we don’t mind paying…but place is packed few staff got busy…lead us to leave to other please. Usually we there need at least 8-9 round but today we stopped 4 th round only. Food quality still remains awesome and margaritas still awesome but sad part is that when u go there always new people and treat u like don’t know customer i missed previous team they were super cool. And they have this point system we tried it up till now no Papi’s points in….it was saying so nice each time u visit collect points and can get complimentary drink etc!!!…..no sufficient info staffs is disappointing not friendly not happy looking whole time…looks like short of main power or unpaid….and this time around I don’t feel welcomed. I posted my Instagram nice so that they feel better but not even slight it lead me to here my honest review today!. I even bring new 2 friend just landed in Singapore long term expat couple. We spend $300++ and more each we visit. So sad sometimes having difficult to book table and come with crowded & have to wait…and it lead me to think u come paid for your food but…get this kind of service is it worth it????. So my friends my recommendations is that just drink a one and ear your nice taco and get out elsewhere where HH friendly and...

Went a few months ago during a public holiday weekend and while the food was okay (nothing spectacular compared to actual tacos you can get in the US/Mexico), the service was terrible, thus the one star. Up till today, I can still remember the bad experience at this place and it is still the title holder for worst experience dining out.

First tried to walk in for lunch without a reservation and the busy servers took a while to attend to us. I get that you have to serve customers and don’t mind waiting a little, but if more than a few groups with a reservation come later and are being prioritized, I think the service process needs to be rethought. On top of that, the place is tiny and the entrance is right at a narrow walkway, making it difficult to hang around getting the server’s attention as you’ve to constantly make way for others walking past.

Long story short, after finally getting their attention, the servers told us to leave our number and they’d call. They never did, and we ate somewhere else for lunch instead.

That might have been the end of the story except I tried my luck again at dinner because we were around the area and I’d heard good things about the place. They managed to squeeze us in and told us they’d need the table back in an hour. throughout the entire dinner though, being seated at the bar area right in front of the cooking and preparation area, the atmosphere felt very rushed as the staff were clearly very busy. The dinner didn’t feel enjoyable at all and was super stressful. Staff were also not attentive - it was difficult to get their attention and my request for more iced water got forgotten numerous times.

Was disappointed by the experience as it didn’t live it to its name. I wouldn’t return - hopefully they improve their service and others have a better...
