Always wished that we have some Potter actions in singapore but even with the USS at Sentosa. We did not get a Hogemades or Hogwarts castle…
When I came across Platform 1094, I was so delighted and had couldn’t wait to try this place so much. The decor was insanely game on even though they are set as a cafe then a restaurant. But I really love the details put into the store design. Loved the chandeliers. 😜 Details, details, details.
It was strapped at a humble offskirt of town Boon Keng / Serangoon, just on the other end if 126 Dim sum a very well known which definitely has its own sprouts of colourful cafes and eateries for a long long time.
Have seen so much posts about the special concoctions that is so playful, I didn’t have much high hopes for the food.
But I was totally wrong, between these 2 Potterheads, we ordered a cauldron of soup(carrot and beetroot to be exact) and Dragon Milk cheese stick for our starters. The soup was surprisingly full bodied and savoury yet not too jelak(heavy) but I am totally heads over heal with their Cheese stick… I have never got such sizable cheese stick before in singapore… not only TM it’s thick, smooth and stringy… the batter was not so heavy too… the portions are pretty big for 2 but good for a party size.
We also ordered 2 mains to share, which is still just right. Personally just go for the “magically delicious” recommendations and you wouldn’t be wrong. We order the crab meat Aglio Aglio in mild spicy level(yes… you can choose the level of spicy as the waitress had offered to ask if our preference) and also a House-elf’s Special pork ribs. The ribs didn’t look as good from the menu but it definitely wowed me with the taste. Not only was it flavourful slightly sweet on the glancing sauce but the meat do lightly falls apart easily with a fork. The chef defintely knows his stuff.
Lastly I had to comment on the drinks, having tasted the butterbeer from USS LA, the Studio Tour and the Cursed child theatre… I would say it’s still need a little bit of a toffee/butterscotch taste but it’s still a good attempt to re-invent this. It defintely brought back memories when I could travel 2 years back. As for the Mr Linch Flaming brew, it was so much fun to get the fire burning like a real wizard was always delighted to watch.
We couldn’t order more though we still needed a dessert to end the meal but we’ll be back to try more dishes.
You’ve outdone yourself Platform 1094… Kudos and keep up the good work. And hope to see more inventive items...

Read moreWe celebrated a friend’s birthday at Platform 1094 two days ago on 15 May 2024, and had such a blast.
Despite it being a small restaurant, it was beautifully decorated with book shelves, candeliers, a ‘fire-place’ and lots of photo frames etc. They also had props and costumes to play Harry Potter dressup. Although we didn’t get to do so, we saw some kids doing it and having lots of fun.
There were 9 of us and we managed to order a variety of mains and drinks. I ordered the Flying Charm, which was shrimps with angel hair spaghetti that looked like it was floating in the air. These “in the air” noodles had gained popularity in recent years, but I’ve not gotten round to give it a try until now. The “Flying Charm” came with some dry ice at the side, giving it a dreamy and mystic feel. The Half-BBQ chicken was torched at our table, adding on an element of ‘interactivity’. I didn’t get to try this dish, but my friends that did, had such high praises for it.
We ordered an “Owl the Messenger” drink which was presented in an owl glass within a cage! It was super cute. We also ordered one of their signature drinks, the Flaming Brew, which burst into blue flames when it came into contact with Cinnamon powder.
I ordered the Sorcerer Blood which I had to pour the various elements into a glass bottle and shake it up. Thereafter when this mixture was poured into a serving glass, the “ice cube” in the serving glass lighted up, creating a phenomenal “Wowww” in our crowd. Although it was rather “gimmicky”, the effects were really spectacular! Highly recommended to order this!
With such a photogenic setting to start out with, some of the signature food and drinks added on the surprise and fun element for the guests.
As there were so many of us at our table and many other customers in the restaurant, there was only one young female staff that attended to us all. Despite running around and serving so many of us, she was still cheery, friendly and humorous.
It was such a delightful experience at the restaurant, with the thematic setting and props, the visual feast, fun and surprise elements for the food and drinks, the tasty meals and the exemplary customer service. Would definitely return! (Especially for the Half-BBQ chicken which I had missed this...
