Review for Sanook at Tampines One
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sanook, a delightful Thai restaurant located in Tampines One, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that perfectly set the stage for a fantastic meal.
The star of the show was undoubtedly the Thai Steam Fish. This dish is a true masterpiece! The fish was incredibly fresh, steamed to perfection, and infused with aromatic herbs and spices that brought out the best of Thai flavors. The combination of chili, lime, and garlic created a zesty and vibrant sauce that complemented the delicate taste of the fish beautifully. Each bite was a delightful explosion of flavor that left me wanting more.
In addition to the steam fish, the menu features a variety of authentic Thai dishes that cater to all palates. The friendly staff was knowledgeable and eager to recommend dishes based on my preferences, which made the dining experience even more enjoyable. The service was prompt and attentive, ensuring that our needs were met throughout the meal.
The ambiance of Sanook is also worth mentioning. With its tasteful decor and cozy seating, it provides a perfect backdrop for a casual dinner with friends or a special night out.
Overall, Sanook at Tampines One is a gem of a restaurant that I highly recommend, especially for anyone looking to indulge in authentic Thai cuisine. Don’t miss the opportunity to try the Thai Steam Fish – it’s a dish that truly embodies the essence of Thai cooking. I can’t wait to return and explore more...
Read moreI usually never write restaurant reviews but we met a nice manager there who need to be recognised publicly. Fizah was her name. I have reserved for 35paxs at Sanook Kitchen, Tampines 1 to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. You guessed, it can be chaos with this kind of big group. But to my suprised , Fizah has served us with a smile and accomodate with our last minute request such as asking her that we need 1 more table for our last minute pax who sunddenly wanted to join in.
Not only that, the food served was according to my order and she has has been communicating with me via messages like 8hrs before our actual reservation timing.. I placed the ordered through messages and all request such as baby chairs and etc was thru phone too.
Upon reaching there, she served our food and we keep on calling her that we want this and that. At that time, the restaurant was fully packed and she is very busy with others order but yet she can serve us with a smile and gentle when talking to us. Overall she did a great job and this kind of employee, the restaurant need more in order to make the customer feel happy and enjoy the ambience and food.
Not forgetting to the chef as well.. The food were nice and still piping hot when it was served to us. All my siblings and relatives commented the nice food..
To Fizah, you did a great job and Sanook Kitchen management shld appreciate your service standards, excellent and go for extra mile to make the customer happy. you are the best. thank...
Read moreFirst time trying sanook. Read about the mixed reviews, wasn't sure if we would be lucky tonight.
We wanted a light dinner and ordered for 2 pax..appetizers, stir fried vegetables and soup; chili tofu, mango salad, seafood yum Woon sen, Thai style kangkong and clear seafood Tom yum soup, 2 drinks and 1 serving of rice.
5 minutes into waiting time, the stir fried vegetables came thru, the stir fry kangkong was basic. The shock was the portion size. It was not a set menu, it was ala carte. The portion was clearly a serving for one. I asked the service crew if there was a mistake, the dish went away and came back with a portion size for 1.5 pax.
Next came the soup, it was delish, again the portion size, ala carte, 1xprawn + 2 slices of fish + plenty of straw mushrooms.
40 minutes into waiting time, I waived to the service crew and asked for the appetizers and tofu. 5 mins, then it appeared. Our expectations probably killed the standards of the food.
Total price paid for the food, was considerably more than the Set menu for 2pax at $38.20 before tax and service charge.
Increasingly, such experiences are very disappointing, makes me wonder if I am paying for food and rental. Service is absent. But my invoice includes service tax. Shrinkflation seems to be pandemic.
Perhaps the crew is doing their best to provide adequate service. But to return is to risk the same receiving the same fate.
Would you return? If you do, go for the set and...
