I have previously patronised Sanook’s Kitchen at it’s various outlets around Singapore. It is also not my first time having a meal at the Bedok Outlet, however my experience here today has left a sour taste.
A couple and I were seated side by side at the same time. My partner and I placed our order before them however all their dishes were served within 10minutes while only our Clear Tom Yum soup and plate of plain rice arrived. The couple beside us ordered a soup, a vegetable, meat, omelette and rice, and our order was fairly similar. After waiting for 20 minutes, the couple beside us was almost done eating and the rest of our food was still not served. I decided to check with the server and from their reaction, I would assume that the kitchen has missed our order. At this time, another family has been seated beside us, and their order too arrived before ours. After another 10 minutes, our Stir-fried Kang Kong and Fried Chicken arrived. We were still missing a Thai Boat Beef Noodle. After we were almost done with our dishes, I decided to inform the server that if our noodle was still not done, we would like to cancel it. After mentioning that we wanted to cancel it, the noodles miraculously appeared on our table in a minute. It is to be noted that there were 3 dishes at the kitchen window waiting to be served, however the servers ignored it. Only when I mentioned cancelling the order, did they scramble to prepare and serve it.
I find it ridiculous that throughout this whole experience, not a single apology was given. The service is atrocious and I would not like to come back ever again. I do not expect the staff to provide a discount for the wait, but an apology is free. I have worked in the service industry, and sometimes we do miss out on orders, however we always make sure...
Read moreMy wife and I ordered the thai-tastic meal for 2 at the Bedok Mall branch . It was a great disappointment as the soup was too sourish . Earlier we spoke to the staff and request for a red tom yam soup instead of clear soup which was rejected by the staff and the Malay manager. After much persistence, the manager unhappily agreed . The soup turned out to be bad tasting. The staff and manager seem stressed working and the manger was particularly rude, snatching the menu from our table when she left out table, after she unhappily agreed to change to the red tomyam soup. This is unacceptable behaviour coming from a manager. Our food was just pushed to us and the staff quickly rushed to do other work. Don't expect friendliness here. During my conversation with the manager she claimed many customers were also asking for the red tom yum soup but they could not do it. I question here why can't you be flexible with your menu and change from clear to the red tom yum soup, after all, they are of the same price? She could not answer my question. I will not step into a place that's greatly lacking friendliness. Next to me another customer also feedbacked the noodles he ordered was very starchy . Whoever is reading this, please especially the management, you need much improvement in your restaurant otherwise, you will lose customers with your bad food and poor service staff...
Read moreSanook is one of my favourite restaurant (five star) for Thai food, I had many wonderful experience at the Eastpoint Mall outlet.
The experience at Bedok Mall today was different.
The Deep-fried Fish Fillet with Sweet & Sour Sauce was too sweet (2-3 times sweeter) but can still be eaten together with rice.
The red tom yum soup was too salty (2 times) and the spicy level was 2-3 times spicier than normal, we basically left it aside untouched and continue with the rest of the dishes.
After our meal , at the cashier as I was doing payment, I feedback to the cashier about the tom yum soup. The cashier defensively replied that she is unable to do anything at this point and that I should inform them earlier so that they can cook another in replacement. I was really taken aback with the reply as my intention was only to make a feedback and I politely requested for the manager thinking that the manager would be more professional with my feedback. To my surprise, the cashier replied “I am the manager” I was speechless……… I will avoid this outlet in the future but will still support the Eastpoint mall outlet.
My one star is for this outlet ! for its tom yum soup and their manager’s professionalism.
Do support the other outlets, Thank you Sanook for bringing us wonderful Thai food at such...
