Generally a positive experience and for the price I would definitely visit again.
For my mum and MIL as well as my 2 toddlers who don't eat much, going to typical BBQ buffet is really not worth it. I'm glad I decided to give this a try.
The last time I tried Thai mookata was over 5 years ago before I had kids. I was a bit worried about BBQ with kids but I'm glad the place is spacious enough. We made a reservation for 4 adults and 2 toddlers (high chair) and we were given a long table with 2 grills for 8 pax. Enough space to put all our bags and dining essentials for kids.
Some reviews say that the music was too loud but to me it was ok. It was mother's day weekend so I think the crowd covered the music almost totally.
Staff were friendly, interacted with our kids and took nice photos of us. We also enjoyed the free serving of self-service ice cream at the end.
The major disappointment is that while my family started to eat ice cream, I was trying to finish up the food in my kids' bowls as well as on the hotplate, but the staff started clearing and putting used chopstick into the soup and bringing it away. I told him I was still eating but he didn't seem to understand and continued moving the hotplate away. I'm sad I didn't get to finish the last bit of food. There was no queue outside and there were empty tables so I don't understand why he was in a rush to clear up when I was still eating.
Other than that I think it was good. Would be good if they can have a top up for free...
Read moreWent to the restaurant for dinner. Thought we would be hungry so we selected the buffet option. However after only ordering once we were full. Asked the waiter if we could change our order from the buffet to ala carte and he said no, when asked why he said he already “told his office”. No idea what that meant and he failed to clarify.
During payment it was a lady at the counter, asked her the same question and we got the same reply even though we explained that we only ordered once (paper is used to keep track of what is ordered). Not sure what’s the issue with updating the order on the POS machine perhaps a lack of training and experience with the generally non English speaking staff.
The price of ala carte comes out to about 50$ and the price for 2 with the buffet price is about 90$ after GST. Money is not the issue here as we paid and left, the main issue is the bad customer service. With so many outlets I hope they are not all this badly managed.
Extremely bad customer service on their end, will not patronise them again. Food taste the same as coffee shop mookata places, music played overly loud having people shouting over it to communicate.
There are coffee shops in the vicinity with mookata for a much cheaper price than this place without the loud music; go for that instead...
Read moreMusic was really loud. We were sitting at the corner near entrance but yet music was blasting and it was difficult to have a good chat over food. Imagine sitting in the middle where the loud music is played. It will be uncomfortable.
Food normal but i feel expensive. Could have better price else where for mookata.
Server was impatient. Hovering around and keep asking if i am done with my orders when clearly i am still deciding on what to order. Plates were cleared even though we were still eating. Server should be more sensible to see the situation before hastily clearing and cleaning while customers are still eating. Server not friendly, no smile. Just blank expression with impatient body language. It was a chinese lady likely from china in her 50s.
Bill wasnt transparent. The screen showed the breakdown of food we ordered but before i can double confirm, cashier just printed out the bill of no. Of plates but not showing the food name and told me to pay. I did not even have the chance to check if everything was billed accurately. Cashier was also showing some unfriendly attitude vides, a skinny guy who looks like a malay.
Spent $70 but wont be returning anymore because of the service level and...
