When you are hungry and really can't decide what to eat, the decision and choice is simple, Chicken Rice lah 😋
Sinaran has always been our families favorite place to gather and enjoy a meal and that means 2 tables of 10 or 3 tables of 8. Most of the time the food is pretty consistent and delish. Out of the numerous times, only twice did the meal was sort of sub par, of what is expected. I guess that was a fluke. But needs to be said, 99% they are awesome 👌
This particular time, since we are not able to sit and enjoy our meal, we decided to just pack and go. As usual, the chicken rice is almost perfect. Moist and juicy chicken meat, rice that is not oily and yet so flavourful and portioning that is very generous. Additionally, got the rojak too. Not disappointing for sure 😋
My only gripe of late would be how they manage orders. Really could and must do better. They MUST adhere to the "first come first serve" rule, PERIOD. It is not fair for patrons who come earlier having to wait while others who come after gets their food first. However we try to be understanding, it really does and will get to anyone seeing this happening. So for now until they better the ordering process, then it's just 3 stars.
Service and food quality is equally important.

Read moreI've been a patron of this Tze char restaurant since I was in Pri Sch. Now im in my mid-thirties. Known the boss for as long as I can remember. And his brother who is now mending a noodle stall in Hillion Mall. Just recently I came after a long time of not eating there since I've moved to the East, my oh my, how the mighty have fallen. My favourites such as Yang Chow fried rice and Bee Hoon Hong Kong, has gone really bland. Fried Baby squid and sambal sliced fish were tasteless, Chap Chye was too gingery. The only saving grace was the Butter Prawn. Would have given 1 star if not for the very affordable price. It's really sad that a childhood place of mine has gone to this state. And by that i mean, really bad to the extent of my mother (who used to be an ardent fan like me) warning me beforehand to avoid the restaurant because of her recent bad experience. I stubbornly went ahead, and here we are. I hope they do something about it, because I do not see the regular chefs (or his son who occassionally helps out with the cooking) there anymore or risk losing more...

Sinaran has been my family's best halal-chinese zi zhar for the longest time, almost 30 years. The delicious spread has not gone wayward and we love it for its perfect not-salty dishes.
Price wise, it has one if the best competitive pricing which is actually cheaper if you compare with the serving quantity. The owner kept it such to cater to the demographics of the resident to ensure a fulfilling meal. We would spend from $8 per pax and when we times are good, $20 per person with a good table spread.
If you plan to have a gathering meal especially 8 pax and above, give them a call to make reservations. Over these years, I see more reservations and we are happy it happens, even when we have to go back another day - their food is still our best zi zhar pick.
They are more young-family friendly with making the availability of children's eating...
