Spent a lovely afternoon at South Union Park, tucked away in the peaceful Kembangan neighborhood. Starters: 🌟Truffle Konbu Fries ($10) – Crispy fries tossed in aromatic truffle oil and topped with savory konbu for that perfect umami kick. 🌟Squid Ink Bone Marrow ($17) – Rich and buttery bone marrow paired with the bold flavors of squid ink. It’s perfect spread on the toasted country bread. 🌟Mesclun & Beets Salad ($13) – A refreshing combo of mesclun, earthy beetroot, sweet cherry tomatoes, candied hazelnuts, oranges, all dressed in beetroot vinaigrette, and topped with pecorino and feta. We loved this so much! Pasta: ⭐️Duck Confit Tagliatelle ($28) – The award-winning signature dish at South Union Park! Tender shreds of duck confit, spinach, crunchy hazelnuts, and a creamy masala sauce come together beautifully, finished with parmesan and parsley. 🌟Seared Prawn Mentaiko ($25) – Juicy, succulent seared prawns with prawn butter and creamy mentaiko made this dish rich and briny – as a prawn lover, I absolutely enjoyed this! Dessert: 🌟Sup Brownie ($12) – A warm, fudgy brownie topped with salted caramel ice cream and candied walnuts, drizzled in decadent butterscotch sauce. Good for sharing especially for the sweet tooth. Drinks: 🌟Dark Cocoa Espresso Frappe ($12) – A delightful blend of dark cocoa and espresso, giving you that caffeine kick with a chocolatey twist. ⭐️Mixed Berries ($10) – A refreshing, fruity drink loaded with berry goodness with banana and apple juice!

This was our third time here. Our first experience with South Park was during the first HA were we did a takeaway (not the best for pasta but very good flavour still). Our 2nd time here was for lunch where they had a great lunch deal – one main, a small salad and dessert. This time my partner and I came for dinner. We ordered the mesclun & beet salad, garlic bread, crabmeat pasta with tomato sauce and chocolate pappardelle. Mesclun & beet salad: great! A fine balance of flavours - slight sweetness and a touch of tang. The candied hazelnut added a lovely texture. Garlic bread: quite underwhelming. The garlic spread taste like the Starbucks type and the bread wasn't tasty or cripsy. I wouldn't order it again. Crabmeat pasta: a favourite of ours! The crab was abundant, you'll have enough for every forkful of pasta. Flavour was good without having the crabby sea taste nor was it a typical tomato base. I would absolutely recommend this. Chocolate pappardelle: this was like the Western version of a beef hor fun, or at least the texture of the pappardelle was. There was a slight chocolatey bitterness in the pasta (not a negative bitterness at all) but somehow it was a bit too soft or slippery to my liking. Also the gamey beef flavour almost fully concealed the taste the chocolate in the pasta. I would recommend a beef shank pasta instead! Overall it was a great dinner and I would gladly return to explore more of their menu.

Tldr: Recommend the truffle kombu fries ($15) and mentaiko prawn pasta ($26) but skip the drinks. There was a queue forming when we visited around 1.30pm on Saturday, but it moved quite fast and we were seated in 10 mins. We ordered 4 mains which are 1 for 1 on Burpple, and truffle fries. Food was on the expensive side but portion was huge as well. We unanimously agreed that the mentaiko prawn pasta was better compared to the duck tagliatelle ($28) flavour wise, but it also completely missed the mark as none of us could taste the mentaiko inside. BBQ pork ribs ($26) came with sweet potato fries, freshly fried and piping hot. However the ribs was quite dry and a little hard. The sea bass ($26) can be considered a lighter choice compared to the above, both in terms of serving size and taste. Perhaps because it was served last and we were already inundated with the strong flavours from the other mains, we couldn’t really appreciate the delicate-ness of this final dish. Among the drinks we ordered (matcha latte, lychee rose tea and matcha milkshake), the milkshake was the best. Matcha latte was such a disappointment and one of the worst I’ve tried. Matcha wasn’t strong and we could still taste the powder in the drink. They also don’t offer a choice of skimmed milk. Milkshake was better perhaps because it was blended and sweetened with vanilla ice cream. Iced lychee rose tea was basically just a tea bag and had a very mild taste. Still a decent cafe for meetups and brunch dates if you have entertainer or Burpple, otherwise skip it. It’s around a 10 min walk from Kembangan mrt and no bus stops nearby, so not very convenient to get to in SG’s weather unless you drive.

The food here is amazing and the serving portions are huge. A very quiet corner in Kembangan and is not very easy to get to via public transport so recommended to drive or take a taxi. The chicken wings was our appetizer and the coating was crunchy and the sauce that came with it was some sort of tartar but went very well with the chicken. The chicken was tender and very well done. Could be shared with three people. My friend had he squid ink fish and chips and he seemed to enjoy it and was left feeling very content after his meal. I had the bacon spinach creamy tagliatelle. You can choose whether you want the handmade tagliatelle for three dollars more or spaghetti or rigatoni for no extra charge. So I chose the handmade tagliatelle and that was the best pasta I’ve ever had in singapore. The pasta had the right amount of chew and combined with the saltiness of the bacon and crispness of the spinach, it was a perfect mouthful every time. I was left feeling stuffed after this meal because they also give a huge portion size. This pasta reminded me of a British carbonara with a twist but very well executed. Would have to highly recommend, it’s on the slightly more expensive side, expect to spend about 30 to 50 dollars per person but I think it’s worth it. If you can get a deal on entertainer, it’s even more worth it.

I think this little restaurant has more potential and definitely will be even more popular and crowded if not for its location. Nested in a quiet neighbourhood, if it is not for social media, I probably will never travel to Kembangan for pasta. There is not even direct bus to reach here and it is too far to walk from the train station? But there are carpark lots available along the private houses streets. Inside the restaurant, you can find it very authentic and home-like. The kitchen is open concept and you can feel the busyness of the restaurant the moment you stepped into it. Majority of the menu is about pasta. There are options to select their home-made pasta at just an additional few dollars or you can just select the default one. There are many variety of pastas to choose from and the agilo olio pasta with their homemade spaghetti which I chose was really delicious. The homemade spaghetti texture was good, but the size is a bit smaller than the usual spaghetti, feels more like mee-kia if you know what I mean. But it doesn't take anything away from how good a pasta it is. We also ordered the apple crumble for dessert. I'm not so much as a sweet tooth person but my partner gave thumbs up for it.

We had dinner, followed by brunch a few days later. The servers are friendly and made helpful suggestions re the dishes, and the food arrived pretty quickly. For dinner, we started with soy fried chicken, which was tasty and crunchy. We ordered the chicken pasta, paying to upgrade to handmade tagatelle. It was good if a tad spicy. The signature pasta with meatballs was also cooked nicely and the meatballs had a nice consistency and were not overly compressed, but there was a slightly odd aftertaste. The hazlenut choux was well presented and my wife liked it, though I found it a tad mushy. For brunch, the orange glow was fresh and delicious, though a tad pricey at $9. The pot of earl grey tea was also expensive at $8 a pot, and my wife did not like it as there was not much bergamot taste - in fact, it was diluted and bland. The eggs benedict were good, with nicely cooked eggs atop proscuitto ham and a crispy muffin like bun. I liked my duck confit hash, though it was on the salty side with added soy and garlic. The hash was tater tots like, which had a nice texture and which remained crispy, which was good. Overall, this is a nice place for a cosy meal, and the dishes are well presented.
