During my last visit, ordered some salmon sashimi. After finishing the 2 servings of salmon sashimi, we noticed a live worm crawling on the plate we just ate. A check with Google revealed that it was a parasitic worm commonly found in fishes including salmon.
I am shocked that live parasitic worm is in the salmon sashimi as 'sushi grade' salmon or other seafood are chilled to minus 20+ degrees Celsius to kill off all parasitic worms!
To have a live parasitic worm in Sushi Tei's salmon sashimi, it would mean that Sushi Tei served non-sushi grade salmon just like those sold in NTUC or CS Fresh supermarket!
This is simply atrocious! A serious hygiene issue and breach of trust with their customers!
Is this a case of profit over safety and health?
Other than the salmon sashimi, Sushi Tei has a good selection of other sushi and cooked items. I like their Beef Yakiniku.

Read moreIt is a good family restaurant, decent enough and reasonably priced. I would say middle Upper range. If anyone wants a grilled meat, they can have it, or ramen- soup with noodles for the children for easy feeding. They also have a very nice wakami salad which I like and of course, the sushi as the namesake. Sashimi is not the freshest nor with the most variety but it is still good as an add on to try. I like that it's hours are flexible as in from early lunch till almost supper at 10pn so one can just walk in during those times for a casual meal. Also they have many outlets spread across the island for convenient Japanese foods. One bonus is they have a name for easy remembrance. Alot of Japanese outlets without knowing Japanese as a language, has hard to remember restaurant names, so sushi tei definitely is easy enough...
Read moreBeen to this branch a few times before, when it was at its previous location, round the corner in the small mall. Have to say, despite the nice and new decor, convenient iPad ordering system, open kitchen concept, the dining experience has really declined. The food was alright, edible but nothing to scream about. The service was disappointing, as I was seated at a really tiny table that could not accommodate the dishes I ordered. It was such a tight fit that despite me requesting nicely to move to a larger empty table, no one wanted to assist me in that. The rationale being reserved or meant for 4 was thrown my way. I was quite insulted when a walk in party of 1 was shown to a 4 seat table, ordered ate and left being all comfortable and spread out while i was stuck playing Tetris...
