The Tuckshop - Assembly — Restaurant in Singapore

This is an awesome place for group gathering, but more so, a romantic venue. The ambience here reflects an older era of Singapore's coffeehouse that has been fused with modern concept of interior design. This apart, the carefully selected music, temperature, and attentive staffs here makes it an ideal setting to relax, soak in the atmosphere, and enjoy the company of your friends or partner. To top this off, the food here though somewhat limited, is sufficient enough to more than blow your taste buds away. We had the beef patty (superb sauce), and beef rendang prata pizza. Both of which didn't fail my expectation. Had wanted to try their sio bak, but it was sold out during my vist (will go back to try). Beer wise (I'm a beer lover), they have quite a selection of draught beers from archipelago brewery. Whilst not all people appreciate its taste, the bar makes this up by offering an extensive range of craft beers, and other range of alcohol. All in all, this is definitely a recommend place to chill. Thanks for your prompt response and appreciate the due diligence. However, I would like to clarify on a few inconsistency here - No water (tap or bottled) was requested nor served.

Our plan was to order a few beers and spend the afternoon there, however, after he unpleasant experience we decided to head else where.

While ordering the dish, we had requested for hard boiled eggs, however, at the time ordering the staff did not inform us that this may entail some delay. I was only informed about this when I checked the status of the order with the staff after 20 mins. Upon questioning why the delay was not communicated while placing the order, I was told that it was the customer’s onus to ask about it.

Happy to find another cool place for a night out! Lovely ambiance, although it can be a little warm on a hot day. They even have games and books for guests. Not sure if they’re only for decoration though. I had a margarita and a negroni, both were well up to the mark. But if you’re the kind who’s also interested in trying something new, their tuckshop signature cocktail might be what you’d want. A combination of tequila, beer and sour plum that I thoroughly enjoyed and think is a pretty good accompaniment with most food. Amongst a number of interesting concoctions, they have a clarified negroni with coconut essence or extract that caught my eye and am keen to go back for. Also, their Striploin steak was pretty good. They don’t give you a choice of doneness but I’m guessing it’s because the cuts are slightly thinner and they have their cook times sussed. The result is a lovely browned exterior with a medium to medium-well interior. Good...
