We stopped by for a late lunch / early dinner after hiking. The food was quite nice, but the service left a lot to be desired. I guess if someone from the West wants to experience what service used to be in the communist times, then it could be an interesting experience. The waitresses leave the food and drinks at the far end of the table for you to distribute, they don't turn back when you call after them for something else you remembered, and generally speak and look at you as little as possible. A friend and I had hiked across the border from Hungary and stopped for dinner in this little countryside inn. Everything about the place was endearing. The food was traditional hearty stuff ideal for people who just had a good walk. The owner did his best to use English but with a bit of broken Hungarian and Slovak things went swimmingly. Terrible experience, staff very unfriendly and rude. The middle age woman with white hair treated us very badly just because we asked an invoice. She refused to provide us an invoice saying that it was too late to make it, on the contrary it was not too late to pretend to be paid in cash. Very rude and gave us an unacceptable attitude.
