Koliba Goral — Restaurant in Donovaly

Whenever we were in the Donovaly region - summer and winter - we always visited this restaurant as a returning guest. We always got very tasty and delicious Slovak food. Last time, however, we had a very serious and disappointing insult when we arrived at the restaurant. One of the employees at the counter - Her name was Lucia - did not want to accept our advance table reservation, confirmed in writing by e-mail. She was so rude, impolite and dismissive that we just stood there in shock, watching and listening to Her absurd behavior as a host. Eventually another waitress - Her name was Eva - helped us and quickly resolved the issue by rearranging the tables etc and we were seated. In complete contrast to Lucia's demeanor, She was very kind and polite, supportive, and provided perfect, excellent, prompt service. In the end it turned out that the reservation was found, but Lucia did not come to our table to apologize, saying sorry, etc. I sent a written complaint to the owner and manager of the restaurant, 100% sure She read my message, but She didn't even bother to reply! I have to say that this kind of behavior and attitude is not befitting of such a good restaurant and will put off guests and of course tarnish its reputation. Such a waitress would have been fired immediately to avoid ruining the restaurant's reputation. Unfortunately, something has really changed here, it was very disappointing - despite the delicious food, we will probably skip it in the future and advise others to find another restaurant with...

Well, where to start ?! (August) First of all, the Koliba is beautiful, flowers, decoration and the view. Unfortunately, waitresses are so rude, unfriendly and seem to be bothered to be here. I ordered pork ribs MARINATED in garlic, when it came it was tasteless and blunt.. after mentioning this to the waitress she said she will go to the kitchen and ask. When she came back she said that they only sprinkle a bit of garlic over the top while making them ready. I was shocked cause the menu says MARINATED (you don't have to be a chef to understand what means marinated). Another waitress came and very rudely asked what's the problem, I explained her politely that the meat is blunt and tasteless, her face expression (rolling eyes) spoke for thousands words!!! How rude !!! She stated that the meat is marinated but while being cooked the garlic taste disappears) with a proper attitude she asked if I'm gonna finish it or she can take it away. No question if I want to order something else whatsoever. Never coming back to this place! I hope the management read these reviews and will take some actions !!!

Add on: I managed to speak to the manager of the restaurant over the phone, from her words she couldn’t be bothered after I told her about the customer service.

Just avoid the place, there is so many better...
