Restaurant Salaš Krajinka near Ružomberka (Liptov) is a culinary jewel in the middle of the beauty of nature. This restaurant with a rich history dating back to 1983 proudly maintains its traditional quality and offers an authentic taste of Slovak cuisine.

One of the restaurant's highlights is its outdoor seating area, allowing guests to bask in the natural beauty of Liptov while savoring delicious meals. During the summer, visitors can indulge in various cheese-based dishes and freshly baked bread, creating a delightful outdoor dining experience.

Salaš Krajinka doesn't just excel in ambiance; its menu boasts a plethora of delectable treats. From the exquisite Žinčiča drink to homemade Slovak specialties like Bryndzové halušky (dumplings with sheep cheese), bryndzová polévka (sheep cheese soup), Vyprážaný ovčí syr (fried sheep cheese), Jahňací perkelt (lamb stew), and kapustnica (cabbage soup), every dish is a testament to the restaurant's commitment to culinary excellence.

I wholeheartedly recommend trying their delectable offerings – each dish is a flavorful celebration of Slovakia's rich culinary heritage. Don't miss the chance to indulge in these delightful...

I have been visiting this place for 13 years. Used to be good but not anymore. Food quality plummeted. On a good day you get okay food. But twice I got terrible food like today: bitter soup with burnt paprika and main dish without any taste. Guests sitting next to me were complaining about their food, too. Halušky tastes like sand, bryndza is not real bryndza, but a mixture od sheep and cow milk - that's not bryndza, that's cheap fake. Waiter himself said they make "bryndza" like this.

Ladies working in the bakery NEVER smile and usher you to order. Feels like a Thai market.

Waiters are like 16yo, posh like Instagram models. Are you picking them among high school queens?

You cannot pay by card anymore, cash only. 21st century, hello!

Pricing policy is beyond ridiculous: they charge you per slice of bread with your soup! Is this third world? They always charge me more than I actually eat, then I'm forced to take it up with the waiter. Wake up!

You order meat stew. This is usually eaten with halušky, but you have to pay separately for halušky. Like what am I expected to eat it with, bread or salad? Ridiculous.

I'll avoid this place in the future. It's...

Beautiful surroundings, perfect location in the middle of the main connection route between two largest cities in Slovakia. You can get all the typical Slovak dishes, most of them prepared from locally agricultured ingredients. It is nice to look at the sheep from which the bryndza on your halušky was made, while eating them. On the side of the main restaurant, you can also find their local cheese store, where you can buy some local goods to take away. The service is also good in terms of the waiters’ approach. On the other hand, these positives result in great popularity of this place, which means it’s really crowded all the time and you need to wait for your turn, or more often sit by the table with other hungry travellers. The prices are on average for the quality you get, maybe even slightly better than one would expect. Overall, I enjoy the place, however, it happened to me several times, that I rather turned around to find less crowded place on my way. I definitely...

A wonderful place to stop and relax. Good prices, delicious fresh food, farm animals and a Tractor Museum. Please come, you won’t regret it.

The farm is conveniently located on a busy road between two major cities and it's a good choice to stop and grab lunch, coffee or buy local specialities, especially cheeses and home baked cakes. There's a restaurant offering local food but it's mostly full and I've never been able to get a free table. They used to make an awesome poppy seed strudel but it's not available any more. I've been visiting this farm for a while now during my travels and I think the range of products is becoming less varied which is kind of disappointing. Still, the farm is ideal for families with children because there are many attractions and little benches and kids can play around and watch sheep, geese, chickens and rabbits who are kept in the farm and often let among the visitors. The view is nice offering a look at the Slovak countryside.
