The high rating is a joke, right? The food is not only bad, it's disgusting. We ordered several dishes and I could hardly get them down. What's not barely edible is amazingly bland. And I mean this literally. I'd rather get a baguette at the corner market for 40 cents, keep it outside until it gets moldy, and then eat it with raw beans.
To top it all off, the food is very expensive by Slovenian standards.
The visual presentation and interior design of the restaurant is very nice, but it's ruined by service that's askew. I asked the waitress for ice and she never brought it, nor did she apologize when I had to go get it myself. There was some other waiter who kept walking right up within inches of me to talk to me. It was a strange and uncomfortable experience. If I'm paying criminal rates for terrible food, I would at least expect good service.
Oh yeah, and this restaurant is far away from the actual city. You'll either have to drive or walk a long way to eat at this garbage...
Read moreVery slow service and most of the food was mediocre at best. The main courses looked very nice and promising, but most of them had a very dull taste. They don't even have a proper menu, just a piece of paper wich lists the main courses (only available in Slovenian). We liked the starter plate however, which was full of good quality homemade cheese, salami and ham. The wines were also quite good. Overall our experience was dissappointing, I expect more from a Michellin...
Read moreGostilna Francl is a restaurant where they serve traditional slovenian food, but served in a little bit not modern, let’s say renewed way. The interns are warm and cozy, all the plates were good, the service ok, maybe a little bit too much with non stop pooring the wine even if we didn’t ask (we left the wine in the glasses, because we couldn’t drink it all). The prices are medium-high, but fair for the level...
