Gostilna in Pizzeria Portus — Restaurant in Cerknica

We stopped in for lunch on a sunday finding the place packed, at least outside while inside there were still tables available. We noticed an empty table outside and the waiter offered to have it cleared for us which we accepted.

The menu, when we finaly received it, was surprisingly sparse with only specials, written on a notice board, and a very short menu consisting of only pjzzas and salads being made available.

When we ordered drinks, no flavored were available and we were offered elderberry syrup at 3 € per glass. Coca Cola Zero was not available but regular Coke was at 2,9 € per bottle.

We ordered pizzas which were fine. The garden seating is next to a rather busy road which was annoying at times as were the half a dozen of flies that decided to drop in for lunch. We paid 55€ for three pizzas and drinks which is not too expensive but prices did deter us from trying...

Just a few kilometers away from the main road you can find this traditional restaurant with one of the best dishes you can taste in Slovenija. You can order all you can think of- from pizza to some more elaborate dishes, but this is a heaven for picky people, especially if you are a gourmet with a taste for exotic food. Today I ordered bear steak. Yes, you read it right, it is the brown bear steak we're talking about! It was delicious. Of course you can find also other dishes traditionally served in Slovenija with wild animals meat, like deer for example, accompanied with štruklji or polenta (also traditional food) Prices are more than affordable and you will enjoy your meal for sure. but they serve something they call pizza in every thinkable form their pizzas never heard of mozzarella tomato souce is ketchup like... sugary ordinary stakes are something you would get from a supermarket cantina menu lists literally hundred different things you can order. Jack of all trades interior design is tacky as hell. Exterior a bit less prices are incredibly high. 11 euros for a supermarket quality of pizza is insanely high.
