AVIO PUB — Restaurant in Postojna

Arrived at 15:45 with a sign greeting us that said "Pizzas available from 16:00 onward". So we come in and sit down, it's only gonna be a 15 minute wait. No problem. The waiter tells us that the wait will be for 30 minutes more.... okay sure. Now it's 16:30 and a new guest comes in and the waiter tells him the pizzas will be available in 20 or 30 minutes. I start chugging my drink and my friend tries to wave the waiter over for the receipt but he ignores him.

15 more minutes pass and a family comes in. The waiter tells them it will be 20 or so minutes wait time for the cook to come, so no pizzas. My friend calls the waiter and he tells us to calm down, and that he's cant do anything (except inform us the wait wont be 30 minutes but 1hr and 30 minutes maybe?) "5 more minutes" he says. So we wait the 5 minutes and finally the waiter asks us what pizzas we want. Success!

I tell him a large, normal pizza and if they can please cut it. He looks at me like im a child and tells me he's gonna bring me a knife so I can cut it myself, its not that hard to cut a pizza. At this point I wanted to tell him to f*ck off but my friend kicked me under the table. The amount of disrespect since the beginning was insane. Obviously we should of left the first time we heard the waiter telling someone else the wait will be 30 minutes more but jesus. Learned our lesson. And the icing on the cake was that all 4 of us agreed the pizza was sh** compared to what we were used to.

Was our favourite restaurant to stop at when passing by on the highway for years, but not...

A good restaurant has transformed into a tourist trap.

For many years I have been visiting this place for their awesome steaks. They were really good and I took 2h detours just to eat here.

But year after year, the quality has been falling. Last time I have ordered a steak with a grilled vegetable, I literally got 4 pieces of random carrots and a slice of a pumpkin. It looked like they ran out of vegetables. It was a joke. The steak was still ok, but it was really weird.

Furthermore, the waiter that works there was always unfriendly. I assumed he was tired, or just had a bad day, but when I asked for a receipt he replied: "find someone else". I begged other waiters so I was able to pay.

Today I decided not to risk with a steak and ordered a chicken salad. 18€ for slightly rotten green salad and roukola, hand of corn, 3.5 cherry tomatoes, dressing and 1/4 of chicken breasts. I was absolutely shocked. I had fancier salads for less. The waiter didn't asked if it was good, he does not know words "thank you", "come again" or even "goodbye" when he was watching us leave.

I gave 5 stars to this place long ago. Today I made my mind I will never enter this restaurant again. At least as long as the waiter and cook work there.

Bad food, bad service and high prices. Just for people who are passing by on their way to or from vacations.

There are many better places... Shame what happend...

I've been here two times, the second tine was a worse experience. First time was fine, although the waiter was pretty cold with the guests and even got angry with one of them who just tried to pull a joke about him (the guest) having difficulties to understand the menu. Second time, I take a seat, I ordered a soup, a burger and a cheese cake. Soup arrives pretty fast and hot, was good. Then the burger arrived almost in the moment when I finished my soup. Wasn't the best one I've even eaten but fine. Then, they took my plates and I'm waiting for the cheese cake. I waited for a bit longer than half an hour for the guy to come up to me, ask me again what cake I want, then put it on my table within 1-2 minutes. At the other table next to me, two pair of guests have finished their food before I could finish my cake. It wasn't even a busy night considering the whole outside part was empty, the guests were only indoors.
